Title. I just want to make sure people understand:
Pre-Patch days are notorious for not being done for hours after the planned maintenance.
Will we be able to play tomorrow? 99.9% Yes. However, do not plan it. Don’t take off work for it. Don’t put off important things for it.
We’ve had pre-patches finish at night in California before, it’s rare, but it’s happened. And to be honest with how many massive changes are being done to the UI and talent system/abilities compared to most pre-patches, I genuinely would not be shocked if it gets extended.
So, just a friendly heads up, don’t plan to play tomorrow at 3 PM. If it happens, then that’s great. But planning for it is just setting yourself up for disappointment.
We have these bad pre-patch days so that expansion launches are not as bad. Legion, BFA, and SL launches were great for like 90% of players. Some servers had issues, but for the majority, they were mostly seamless. Which is a massive improvement from WoD and before.

I will roll up the new talent trees and smoke them for two weeks even if I have to wait 2 more hours to do so tomorrow.

Kinda weird to say don’t take time off for it. Probably better to say, do what you want, but understand there’s a chance maintenance will last all day, as it has in the past.

And yet I 1000% guarantee there will be at least one person who posts to complain that they took the day off work for it and servers aren’t up. Lol.

I know it says 5 pm end time for us in Jerryworld, but what’s the likelihood of going past that? I wanna upgrade to my unused nvme and clone everything but don’t want to do that tonight because I want to play.
And the actual release is gonna be even worse. Most people won’t be able to play on day 1 of release.
Stuck at loading screen
Getting booted out of game
Insane lag
But somehow…you will find that magically, all the major streamers are in game and playing without any issue.
What’s up with that Blizzard?

They would complain one way or the other. Kinda irrelevant.
Play Elden Ring in the meantime, some of you probably haven’t beaten Malenia yet.

Better hardware and they almost certainly pay for the highest tier of business internet.
I don’t think hardware has anything to do with that. I think their internet def. might. But I’m also on a gig plan.

I unfortunately will be off work due to getting covid for the second time, and bummed that of course I can’t play WoW on the day I’ll be off. Boooooo
Now there’s a change I can get behind! Time to break out the grill.
Seriously, though, Nature always sides with the hidden flaw. And the thing about hidden flaws? You don’t see them until they boot you in the yarbles. Stay flexible, guys.

To be fair, Malenia is an optional boss so most people probably haven’t killed her lol. Fun fight but it’s a pain to get to her.
Taking time off is the person’s business of course it’s their off time but for just a pre patch to me is a waste unless it coincided with another reason to be off like “I have a doctor appointment anyway “. There’s no new content tomorrow unless you count the meager pre patch quests which isn’t that much.
I mean I plan on logging on - setting up the UI, checking out some talent trees then logging out. I’ll return when the pre-patch activities are released, nothing really to be skipping work for.
