So we can see in the shadowlands class update news post bliz put out that Brewmasters are getting new abilities and having some abilities changed. I just want to take the time to say:
Please don’t change the unique animations granted by transmogging into Fu Zan, the legion artifact.
For example, the class update said they are replacing Blackout Strike with Blackout Kick. Thats fine, but if I have Fu Zan on then I will be sad if its not the awesome weapon strike that it has been for the last 4 years.
In my opinion Legion hit the brewmaster animations perfectly(including the great over the shoulder weapon carry), and if they have to change things then I hope they consider preserving the old way via the Fu Zan transmog.

I feel the same way. I want players who desire dual-wielding brewmasters to get that, but not at the expense of Fu Zan’s amazing animations.
I mean, I would also like this change to go hand in hand with them lifting the artifact transmog restrictions, at least on specs which are now sharing weapon types that they didn’t before, so my staff can look the same whether I’m tanking or doing DPS. But even if they hold their ground on the mog restrictions, I want to keep my brewmaster staff animations when I’m a brewmaster.

I dont see a problem about that, since tmog the legendary can overwrite what you are wearing anyway.
So if you dual wield, you can still use the legion artifact instead regardless of wearing a 2h or not. After that its just tie the animation to those appearances

You mean the pool stick shooting animation that has zero martial arts movement in it? I won’t miss it.

Lol. Nothing in monk has any martial arts movement to it. I mean, Spinning Crane Kick… the way it goes would be an instant broken knee for anyone attempting to hit that way. And doing back flips is probably not the best idea in a fight. Blackout kick is probably the only thing that looks close to normal. Everything else is ultra stylized. All that matters is that it looks cool.
I think you people just complain to complain.
Blizzard stated when bfa hit that the animation for the brm artifact weapon is tied to appearance. And when you use the skin, it will use that animation.
I already replied to you in another thread but you’re completely misunderstanding. The appearance is only tied to your idle combat animation. The blackout strike animation is the same for any staff, but just looks best with the artifact since it’s coming from the shoulder rest position. What people are asking for is for the ability to keep this animation when using the artifact. If nothing changed, the ability animation would NOT be kept when using the artifact, you would just kick instead

They literally said ALL animations are tied to the artifact weapon not just the idle.
I honestly wish there were more Fu zan appearances or maybe a glyph to let you hold other staves on your shoulder. It just looks so great as a brewmaster.

I honestly don’t see the point of getting rid of Blackout Strike. It just fits the class theme so damn well! We’re these big beefy brawlers that throw kegs, spit fire and carry around a large beating stick. Adding back blackout kick feels like it more or less homogenizes the spec further into the fruity loops sparkle kick serpent mist dance goofery the other specs already have a firm grasp on. Don’t turn the sexy beating stick into a useless stat stick!
