For a lot of addons, this works. The problem with addons that takeover social tasks, like LFG, is that they segregate the server. People who use the addon will primarily group through the addon and those who don’t will primarily group through chat. If the addon becomes popular than people will be forced to follow suit or risk having their experience hampered.
It’s a social game, what other players choose to do affects you as well.

I agree insofar as LFG and other player-changing type addons are bad for WoW and should not be allowed. But I’ve seen posts about people complaining about addons like questie and even damage meters. These addons existed back in vanilla WoW and it merely makes questing easier for some people who don’t have time for the game due to school, work, families, etc. and doesn’t effect the gameplay of people NOT using questie.
Want an immersion experience by reading each and every quest? Go ahead. But don’t try to ruin other player’s experience by forcing your beliefs upon them.

You are misrepresenting what addons do by labeling it LFG. What you call an LFG addon is nothing more than a chat parser.
Collecting LFG spam and displaying it in a more functional UI.
The social element is still there.

The hyperbole over the LFG addons is really so sad I laugh everytime I see someone mention it. It isn’t ANYTHING like you want to believe it is or try to have others believe it is. It is no different than spamming chat for LFG, except you don’t have to spam chat. That is IT. It is NOTHING like the LFG tool in retail, at any stage of retail going all the way back to it’s initial inclusion.

Then the community wants the QoL of queuing for dungeon finder. They’ll justify it by saying “getting rid of the social elements is definitely worth it”.

Any addon that tries to put something in Classic that ruined the original game should be instantly broken.
Classic WoW is an entirely different animal with an entirely different audience. Keep your BFA garbage out of my game.

I don’t never have and never will. if you can’t hack it with the default UI you can’t play wow. period. /thread

Slipper slope is too hard of a concept for you. I suggest you stay away from that phrase.
Parsing chat addons do nothing more than what chat itself does.
Also, “you think you do but you don’t” is proving to be a very accurate statement.
Case in point, the constant spamming of ban addons threads. Addons are a part of vanilla.
Except it doesn’t segregate the server, the addon both parses from and posts to the lfg channel, even if you don’t have the addon you will still see groups made by the addon

Well if all this addon does is parse chat, then there is nothing like it in BfA, sounds like it is the same functionality as innkeepers already had.

Also, people forget that we never had a Blizzard group finder that wasn’t cross-realm. This is a lot of hubbub over nothing.

Your belief of what goes against Classic is revisionist history. Chat parsing addons and websites that do the same thing as this addon were in vanilla.

We actually did, a group finder existed in TBC but uh… it was pretty bad and never used
That is less effective than the trade and LFG channel knock yourself out.
