Is it really from just doing quests lol
I did GDKPs most lockouts in P1 and most of the payouts were pretty garbage because many runs had 0 epics, never saw the stuff. Prob around 20ish gold on average. Got up to 300g.
Did dungeon farming to 40 but with training that kinda killed any real gold gain.
Epic crafted p2 items are like over 200g each, pre-bis greens are a couple hundred, even saw the bis rogue dagger for 2000g
Summons 2-3g each now
Even training your prof to 225 is like at least 30g.
Add in cost of mounts and training which everyone seems to have
Just seems like significant gold inflation almost out of nowhere

GDKP’s were banned. This took a main source of income away from a lot of players. Now that these players don’t have a way to make gold, they have to turn to farming.
Farming is run rampant with bots and you make so little gold per hour that its not worth your time. Spend 8 hours farming for 50g. most players wont bother.
What they can do is buy gold. one hour working IRL equals way more bought gold than gold her hour made spent in game. And its so easily accessible they do it often. Most players are getting away with buying gold. and now that they are, they are using that bought gold to buy materials, consumables, summons, the list goes on. Major inflation caused by banned in GDKPs just like we said in the main threads. And people said it wouldn’t happen.

It’s all the gold they bought and they keep buying from gold sellers, the GDK ban doesn’t solve the root of the problem which is: gold buying and the inflation it creates.
If they truly cared about the issue they would have said they would do something real and effective to combat gold buyers and instead they banned GDKP which people may dislike but it wasn’t the root of the issue, you can have GDKP with gold generated legally, but they won’t take real action against gold buying, hell they even forgive streamers for it.

lol GDKPs are banned but it feels like the need to buy gold is at an all time high

The gold buyers will just transfer their shenanigans to another place that is why GDKP ban will do nothing.
For some reason the SoD dev team seems to make all decisions based on whatever outcry is present on the forums currently

People who can’t get bot gold from whales are now demanding it from everyone else. It will take a bit of time to gold sink all the illicit gold, but this was a problem you just couldn’t see before because it was in the AH and the Raids.

I got like 40g questing for like 5 hours of work. It’s swipers and boosters. The classic team overreacted and ruined it for normal players

I wish they did more myself but they have been banning people who buy gold recently for 2 weeks on the first offense. Actually banning people should help some at discouraging people from buying it along with banning GDKP.
Most of the lvl 40’s atm are the more hardcore players that tend to have more gold. There are a limited amount of those BoE items and the playerbase that would want them so prices are high. Thankfully none of them are needed, plenty of high lvl quest gear that’s simply better than most of the BOE items.
Yeah I feel like every normal gold farming method plummets to single digits an hour within the first few days of a launch or new phase.
SoD loss like 50% of their player base this week and it will continue to lose more as those players that haven’t hit 40 yet hit 40 and realize how terrible p2 is. p1 was amazing. idk how this game flopped this fast its insane. it had so much potential. im glad im no longer playing it anymore and back on wotlk/retail
Gold buying and RMT is higher than its ever been in the history of WoW. SoD will never recover from this

Would it have anything to do with Microsoft firing a huge chunk of Blizzard employees?
This is 100% on blizzard.
The hard to get mats for the crafted epics should have been BOP stuff you get from killing bosses in gnomerang. Or rare recipes that dropped from bosses. Or rare recipes bought from reputation vendors tied to the raid.
But no, they just made it cost gold - so those that RMT can get it on the first day. And those who don’t, need to spend days or weeks farming stuff.
The entire issue about p1 was bots/rmt/gdkp and how buying gear affected the economy, And the first thing blizzard did for p2 was to essentially create gear you can buy with gold.

GDKP ban was not expected to be the end of RMT. It just takes away one reason to buy gold via RMT.
RMT was just one reason why they banned GDKP.

Is there any evidence?
Anyway. Not much gold needed currently in the game. Mount and skills cost are easy to quest

Bliz needs to crack down on all forms of RMT… bots farming, swipers, AH manipulation…
They need to kill these AH addons where people are alerting people to “deals” and letting people kill the market
I think this is the wrong take. My view is it is due to the GDKP ban but the reason inflation is so high is still because of the GDKP’s. The difference is by removing the GDKP’s you’ve removed the primary industry for massive gold expenditures. So now all the gold that flooded the servers BECAUSE of GDKP’s has nowhere to get spent, except on consumables and craftables. What you’re seeing is all of the gold that was already bought into the game due to the gold demand of GDKP’s. At least that’s what makes the most sense to me.

You guys continue to make up stuff with zero evidence to support it.
Correlation is not causation, and there are multiple reasons for why gold has been inflated during this season outside of RMT. It’s getting really sad to see you guys constantly whine about this.
Edit- at this point, I’m going to just start putting anyone who spews this kind of tripe with zero evidence on ignore. Not worth the effort.
Quests at 40 for lots of gold. Mages doing dungeon farms for 150g an hour. Some people getting lucky and selling bis items, or farming quest items to sell, or farming greens and selling pre-bis for more money.
Arguably, most of these people made a lot of their wealth in P1.
This is an attempt to remove gold from the economy. Thats part of why mounts were so expensive and why so many epic items had crafting materials that were vendor items for huge volumes of gold. It’s why the AH takes a cut. They’re hoping to combat inflation by inputting gold sinks this phase. Time will tell if it works or if the community will hate it and they’ll make decisions for P3 based on that.
