$90 mount and $30 (That’s USD, for us Canadians the Bruto is $130 before taxes) mount bundle from yesterday, and then today they’re asking us to donate to a charity. Why weren’t some of the proceeds from the enormous amount of money they made yesterday redirected to the charity instead?
Nothing against a charity, I just think it was poor planning and it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Had they done this first I probably wouldn’t care.
To be fair, Blizzard is the heavyweight champ of not reading the room. Whether that applies to this topic or not is probably subjective. I’m more inclined to believe that it was a combination of their poor timing and the Netflix release of the documentary. They had to meet the latter’s deadline. They just upset people the day before. lol
Not really, Blizzard could have done the Bruto and mount bundle next week. We’re celebrating the anniversary for over 2 months not everything needs to be dropped the first week.
Blizzard chose their release timeline for their new items, that’s on them.
Do you people really think Blizzard didn’t know about the date ahead of time and just found out today and couldn’t possibly have planned their other releases around it?
How about you donate all the money from your overpriced mount to Charity if you want your Tax cut and stop asking people for more and more money? Like far out what next a 20th Anniversary watch transmog for $40 bucks?
Maybe, though they didn’t announce the Brutosaur ahead of time in any of the anniversary announcements that I recall. They sprang it on people suddenly, knowing it would be controversial, one day before they released a new charity pack.
Yeah. Like I said before, I think it was just poor timing on their part. They are terrible at thinking things all the way through. I honestly don’t think it was malicious. It was just them being dumb.
They obviously knew this date ahead of time to prepare and they released the mount a day before.
They didn’t release the mount the day the anniversary event started.
They didn’t announce the Brutosaur a month ahead of time like they could have in any of the anniversary marketing/announcements.
It’s not that crazy of a point to think people sat down in a meeting and discussed the release timing of both things or how they might impact each other.
“Blizzard Entertainment will donate 100% of the purchase price of “The Reven Pack” digital bundle to CureDuchenne, less any chargebacks, refunds, transaction fees, and Value Added Taxes (VAT), or other similar taxes paid.”
Take your fake outrage somewhere else.
Not sure why people are arguing about the point that much. You’d have to be naive to think people don’t discuss PR implications of release timings.
I usually buy all the charity packs myself when they come out for no other reason than it’s the only way to send some of your bnet balance outside of the Blizzard ecosystem to something more useful, so you might as well. I’ll probably buy this one too.
At the same time, I also think it’s kind of dirty to surprise release an expensive cash-grab the day before a charity release when you know someone thought it would redirect people’s attention.
