Don’t Buy the Brutosaur

Oh yeah, Blizzard doesnt care about money at all…:roll_eyes::roll_eyes:

Or you know, they could monetize the crap outa the game like they have.

I don’t think retail has that heavy monetize compared to other blizzard games, mostly 1 mount / pet every 6 months, they could go for more tmogs, toys too. At least i think they should focus on keeping players sub or resub more frequently.

Blizzard really care about money on other games but retail WoW doesn’t have that amount of frequent microtransactions, maybe wow token will get a boost with the profession changes and the missing raw gold from callings/mission table.

Is there another WoW game that has a mandatory subscription? We’re already paying.

The games with heavy microtransactions dont have a subscription based model.

yeah i agree, dont buy the brutosaur so gets more exclusive for the ones that have it!

I’ll spend my gold ho I see fit! Not on a Brutosaur though

Good job removing it blizzard. I am so proud of this company lol. A cute dino with a big price tag that people could have spent time on and looked forward to getting it.

It woulda been neat if they kept it for ppl to “work” towards. A nice goal. So tired of the lame business tactic of fomo. Only fragile ppl need something sPeCiAl so some lame humans go, “Oh wow look at that!”

FFXIV has a huge shop for cosmetics etc. and still have a subscription. Heck, I rarely play but when they have a sale, I’m there buying Dyes and account wide mounts or emotes…

Sounds like you have a problem then. It’s not really an argument.

didn’t realize we were having an argument.

Furthermore don’t you dare try to tell me that I have a problem based on how I spend my money. If I want to throw it in a shop, that’s my prerogative.

That’s an argument. You’re contradicting. They said one thing, you added your anecdotal argument. It’s fine. Arguments aren’t negative. But it was an argument.

And I’ll point out bad habits where I please. If you’re going to post about your anecdotal experience here, I’ll comment on it.

It is a discussion but thanks for adding to it, your insight and wisdom is truly amazing.

If it makes you feel better then I’m happy for you. Just to make sure you understand that the world doesn’t revolve around your mindset, it is your opinion that the habit is bad. Maybe you don’t like to see other people spend money or had a traumatic childhood or jealous that some people have the means to do those things. I don’t care tbh you can find someone else to throw your wise cracks.

Fair point. I was perhaps a bit hard on the WoW team in saying they monetize the “crap” out of WoW. I wouldn’t call FFXIV a game full of monetized microtransactions.

All that said, we’ve seen Blizzard do the heavy microtransaction style of development with Diablo on the phone and it was a successful venture.

Bliz would love to do that to WoW. I dont think the FF team is as money hungry.

To an extent we had a period of time where the wow shop had many new items in a short period. Some were good (for relief funds) others were just to make a buck. I can’t fault them though, it is a business.

Whatever man. Be pedantic. It was an argument. It was a contradiction to what he said. You tried to say your experience disputes what they said. That’s an argument.

It was a poor one.

And that’s fine. But in the world of gaming, players like you are a problem. The original statement, that you were certainly arguing with, should be true except for people like you. You’re an exception. And it should in no way go uncommented on when it slips into conversation.

Players that spend real money in a game they pay a subscription for have a problem. It is a problem. You’re paying a subscription for content. And then you’re paying more for more content they lock away from your subscription.

And I’ll point it out everytime someone slips it in.

Personal attacks aren’t good arguments either.

Ehh, I can. I dont think its healthy for the game but Im an older gamer and my era is pre-microtransactions.

WoW is just not as good as it used to be - the subs have dropped precipitously. Trying to make up for the lost revenue in microtransactions seems… weak.

Noted, personal attacks aren’t good arguments. Pot/kettle much?

You said your piece I said mine. Either get back to the thread or move on…

I feel you and get some of the other points that people make when it comes to these transactions. Personally, I probably have everything in the shop because I like to collect things and Blizzard knows there are people that will continue to use the shop.

I wish they had the option to get the mounts or pets in game also similar to FFXIV, they have the event in game and if someone misses that event, they can purchase the item from the shop. Is that a better approach, I don’t think I would say it is better but it allows all of the players (those with the time and those on a tight schedule) to obtain an item for the game.

When the auction mount was announced to be going away, me and three other friends farmed daily to sell commodities so that we could gather up enough gold for them to also get the mount. I put up some of my gold to help and then we continued to farm until I got my gold back. That mount should not have gone away but if they made the mistake of putting it in the shop, the backlash would be huge. It seems they rather take the heat for selling tokens for people to buy in game.

If the mount was still here, people that want it would have a goal to work towards.

Im ok with items that are here for now and gone forever. Its something long time players can pull out to show they were here when the item was here.

That auction mount though? That should have never been a thing. Really poor move by the devs.

WoW has been gutted by terrible decisions for years now.

Yeah…

Blizzard: “Let’s combat inflation by removing gold from the game!”

Also Blizzard: “Let’s remove our best gold sink!”

A true “bruh” moment if I ever saw one.

then they removed it from the na bmah too
