Domination shards getting destroyed is a horrible system,its so easy to just get one shard and put in the socket, its almost muscle memory of years in wow
if you lose them you have to DROP them AGAIN. the unique equipped items that have a % chance drop being treated like gems you can buy for 5g on the AH, lmao
they don’t even have the “DELETE” option some epic items provide, what ? you can inattetional just override them
and its not a problem only casual people suffer, some WF raiders lost them during the prog too doing the same sheet we do
just the fact that alot of people are filling tickets to get the shards they lost back is proof that the system is trash, its so sad that in a moment of inattention you can lose weeks worth of prog and you can’t refarm it.
people are doing weakauras to remind you to use the chisel and not just putting another shard in, to improve the billion dollars company ui, that dont even provides a delete box lmao

You can purchase something that Bonesmith sells and let’s you remove the socket. The thing I dislike about it is that he sells it for 2500 stygia. Too overpriced in my opinion.

No reason for these epic items to not to have the “Confirm Delete” button or whatever pop up when you try and delete an item. That’s the silliest part of it all.
Forgetting to use the chisel to remove a socket is kind of an “on you” thing, imo.

What annoys me is apparently you cannot upgrade shards without unsocketing them…
So either you keep your shards until you can max rank them or pay 2500 stygia each time you want to upgrade them.
Seems to me like they didn’t think this whole system through.

Why can’t people just pay attention to what they are doing in the game and not be in such a rush?
Well for years if you put another gem in an already occupied socket, it destroys the previous one. If you try and put a new enchant upon an already enchanted item, it overrides the previous one. The only new thing here is you actually have a way to remove the domination shard instead of over writing it.

that always destroyed the gem you were replacing. why wouldn’t this work the same way?
