Doing both Damage and Healing reduction is a mistake

Everyone knows to conduct a proper experiment you limit your variables.
This isn’t a thread about what we need, it’s a thread about how to get there correctly.

Some people argue 50% damage reduction felt bad because healing wasn’t reduced. Some person argue it was fine but the reduction was too high so healers disproportionately healed the damage too easy.

How can we tell for sure?
After the 50% test we either:

  1. Try a lower damage reduction, such as 30%
  2. Keep the 50% reduction and try a healing reduction

NOT both.

Doing both will impact the integrity of the test in that we cannot be sure which change is the change that makes this weekend’s pvp feel better (or perhaps worse) and move forward accurately.

This is so fundamentally basic.

Spot on.
Maybe lower it to 35% or 40% and reduce heals.

New to WoW? The devs don’t understand what either of those words mean.

100% agree, I am glad they are testing but the healing reduction just feels like adding a variable the ruins the test… They should also remove the 30% hp from BG’s so that the test is the same in bg’s and open world, I think everyone would prefer pvp to feel the same in all aspects of play.

That’s another thing for me too, people complained BGs felt bad cause combat took too long, but we have doth the Damage Reduction AND the health increase.

Too many variables.
