Doing a Lot Out of Spite

The blindly defending of Blizzard in this thread is astounding. I suppose there are people who enjoy their time being wasted and enjoy being lied to.

I don’t see any issues.

That’s the entire point of the game.

No it isnt. the point of the game is entertainment.

I really don’t get it. The hubris they have to tell someone they should be enjoying the game is astounding. Like am I supposed say, “Oh, you’re right. I should enjoy having my time being wasted and getting no drops. You have convinced me everything is perfect in Shadowlands.”

I’m sorry let me rephrase:

Having their time wasted in a way that does not feel rewarding.

Weird I can’t name one player in game who can’t wait for flying!

Don’t forget AOE cap!!!

Players love to mass pull and AOe mobs down? Lets put an AOE cap to slow down MDI and don’t care that it affects the rest of the player base.

They took away flight whistles because they wanted your Covenant’s local transportation network (i.e. Ardenweald shrooms) to have some value.

It makes perfect sense, if you are dumb.

No one at the conference room table asked: what about navigating the other three zones?

Yep that’s why I packed up my bags and haven’t played retail in weeks now. Classic fills my itch a bit so I don’t miss retail at all.

For starters this comment became “ignored content” while I was looking at it which is amusing. Anyway.

Ground mounts became worthless once you got flying too, but they’re still here. Sure, you could still use them, but why? (Flight Whistle was sometimes genuinely faster.)

I refuse to accept the idea that there are useless FP’s. There are FP’s you don’t use, but that doesn’t mean no one does. This is the same logic that Blizzard used for removing the CoT portal, only to return it ages later. Just because there’s no directed reason to go there doesn’t mean people don’t, and just because you don’t go there doesn’t mean that it’s pointless.

Rewards aside I think we need to talk to Blizzard about WQ’s in Shadowlands. Showing up to a single-objective WQ that turns into an eight objective WQ because everytime you finish it adds a new one is not interesting or fun.

Particularly tedious when the WQ rewards plummeted to “usually worthless” but the WQs themselves surged upwards in terms of required engagement. Not a good change all at once.

No one should ever be made to feel lucky that a product they purchased didn’t use malicious design. Ever.

Logical fallacy. Read: Ad hominem.

It’s almost like people have to do actual work for the people who hold their paychecks hostage or they don’t get their paychecks.

Next time I don’t feel like doing my job I’ll just tell my boss it wasn’t that easy, so I skipped it.

I kinda wanna play my monk, but I’m also not interested in rolling up another character. They’re punishing alts way too hard, it’s ridiculous.

I barely even bother with the rogue anymore, my lock gets all the attention.

I’m certain right along with you.

It’s obvious they do things out of spite. Why else remove the amount of QOL things they have, that were already in game and working?

The thing about not being able to mount in The Maw is a bit overblown I think. If you consider how small that zone is. What’s funny is that if Blizzard had made it twice the size but allowed players to mount it would take the same time to travel but nobody would be complaining about not being able to use their mounts!

It’s a perception thing. Blizzard wanted to give players the sense of being hamstrung but many players really don’t seem to like that, even though again: it’s a small zone and doesn’t take much time to traverse.

I would put it like this - Blizzard has their hand firmly on how players experience this game, and they aren’t letting go any time soon. How this game is now is exactly how Blizzard wants it to be. They control everything. You can feel it everywhere you go.

And come 9.1 it won’t matter any more because we will be able to mount in the Meh

I’d be happy if they let me skip all the boring story crap on my alts. I don’t need to see the Maw intro, not the first one going into Shadowlands, and not the second one after hitting 60.

I started moving my mage into Shadowlands and by Elune it was so grating having to do that intro again. It’s only my third character through, too. Which is a problem because I have 9 more characters to do and I’m basically sitting here like:

Why do people continue to play and support a game they clearly don’t enjoy?

Watching Baine get stabbed is the only redeeming quality of the whole intro.

Yeah, this is something they should probably address. I mean, they gave us the Threads of Fate, which is a good idea. They should expand that to allow you to skip the Maw intro after going through it with your first character. I think a lot of alt players would appreciate that gesture.
