I’m traling about the invasions events. It’s just weird that a boss can have 50% health while I’m fighting it, then I die from no apparent reason that I could see (graphics on Ultra so I should see everything) and miraculously at the moment I die, so does the boss (??) and I get no xp. feels very staged and fake to me, like Bliz doesn’t actually want players leveling from the events. Is anyone else having this experience?

Oh I am sure there was a reason. It’s not like a GM is tailing you and killing you with their god powers at just the right moment.
You’re having connection/latency issues.

You won’t see all the graphics when spells are being spammed by 100+ people in a 40 yard radius. Even on Ultra. Especially when there are the bodies of three other bosses on the location.
Your combat log will tell you why you died.

If anything, having it amped up to Ultra might be making things worse in lag-heavy conditions.
My machine is not a wimp and it still only showed about half the boss effects in the first sevvvveral seconds after it came up.
No I haven’t been experiencing this issue.

Only time I’ve seen anything close to that is when the timer runs out on the boss. But then everything disappears, including the boss, so no corpse.
From what I’ve seen, I think the boss gives as much xp as maybe three - four of the little guys. This has happened to me once or twice on alts, but it’s not too big of a loss.
I think this is just an isolated incident. No foul play.
