Some of mine do (Kneeshooter still has her mechanical chicken), and my Pandaren hunter has her first cat learned on the Wandering Isle and still uses it most days. How about you?
My Panda still has his starting turtle stuck in his stable but he currently uses two Ghostcrawler crabs (yes… he camped that silly crab twice). Others that still use their first pets (or very, very early tames) are my Dark Iron, Blood Elf and Orc.
I couldn’t resist the tiger for my Pandaren, it was such a pretty cat, first one of those style of tigers I’d ever seen and I could never bear to abandon her.
I do not. I do still have Brokentooth though. I mean, there’s nothing special about her anymore since pet attack speeds were normalized but I like to remember the good days of ruining casters’ days in PvP.
Yes, my Main Hunter, who started as a Night Elf, still has her Nightsaber from near Dolanaar.
And every one of my Hunters has Echeyakee. My Night Elf (now BE) had to get on her hands and knees and beg an Orc who was killing it! The kind Orc stepped back and let me tame the white Lion, I was so happy! I’ve never emoted thankful emotes so much.
I don’t remember what night elves in vanilla started with but at level 60 I found someone on the forums who summoned Shy-Rotam for me. I still have her but she’s not hard to get anymore.
Ah yes, the good old days when attack speed and so forth was important.
Well yes and no. When I made my hunter, we had to go 10 levels without a pet.
My nightbourne does. Gimme spirit pet at the start? We are done really…
Edit: the pet is also named after our cat who recently went to the shadowlands as it were. So the pet is a memorial as it were.
My hunter does not. When I was playing a hunter back in 2004 and 2005, you tamed higher level pets to level them quicker. They didn’t level with you automatically.
Of course. My main was created back in BC, when you formed an actual bond with your pets. My raptor Gigabyte has been with me for 14 years now. He stood by my side while lvling up, he came with me to outland, fought the Lich King with me, helped me brave the wilds of Pandaria, etc. He is family, and we will always have each other’s backs.
Have my first pet on classic too of course. I had planned on getting a different model (King Bangalash), but by the time I was high enough lvl to tame him I was far too attached to Pringles to let him go.
Yea my hunter has its starter pet, and the first pet I got afterwards
My forsaken hunter and his dog and spider, Spider and Dog
yep mine is still in the stables.
I’m hoping your spider is named Dog and your dog is named Spider.
My two hunters only have their starting pets. I’ve never tamed a pet as I’ve never seen a reason to do so. I still have no idea how the stables work or why one would need them.
You hope correctly

remove spaces, cuz no image posting for me
My hunter’s a human, and since I made him in BFA, yeah, Ghost, the starting worg is sitting on my stables, alongside his HD upgraded self from WoD.
Yes! I trained a Duskstalker in Teldrassil at the end of WoTLK on this guy. Second char I ever made. I researched pets, and chose a Duskstalker because I could find her in the Nelf Starting area. While not a super pet it was a little better than the other cats in the zone.
At the Cata launch I traveled to Dark Shore to watch the sunset and get ready for the new patch. The next day… I logged in to find my char standing out side the Black Fathom Deeps entrance. To find Blizzard had bleached my kitty white with black spots. Which was jarring to say the least. It took about a year to get over the “hey my cat is white” thing.[1]
It was also a lesson to not get attached to anything as a new player, because what Blizzard gives you with one hand they can take away with the other just as quickly.
[1] - I know why they did it, because to get a white kitty you had to travel all the way to the Dwarf zones. So they probably looked at the mob table for the zone, and said it’s the only one we’ll change colors. Frankly if they were gonna change the color they should have moved it over to the area with the big spider and renamed it a Miststalker.
