Does WoW use Mocap? I can't remember

I know the voice actors would sometimes act scenes out. But I can’t honestly remember if they use mocap or not.

This kinda popped into my head after I was giggling watching some Baulders Gate stuff. ( Yes I’m aware its a teensy bit unfair to compare these two games but go with me here )

Now I love me some good animation. So I do still enjoy when the animators at Blizz are doing their thing.

I just kinda wish some scenes would play out a little more like this

The VAs here did their mocap. Astarion actually doing that big “I WAS RIGHT THERE!!!” gesture just tickles me. I wish WoW had lil moments like that

I figured they did for the racial dances.

For everything else, idk.

Also comparing any WoW story/characters to BG3 is grounds for disappointment, lol.

The ports weren’t great but the actual game was fun

Also mocap has nothing to do with claymation so I dunno why you brought it up

I wish they would do something - mocap, prerendered animations, anything! - for these cutscenes. The Muppet mouths are great when in game, because you are meant to be viewing from a distance. They’re exaggerated perfectly for this! When you’re all up in their face, though :grimacing:
