Does Warrior get better?

Presently leveling a Warrior and am at 57. I feel like my armor is tissue paper instead of plate and I don’t seem to hit very hard outside of execute windows. I mainly just want to be melee dps and have limited time to play, so I don’t want to waste it on leveling a class that turns out to not be good.

Warrior is in a good spot, not overpowered, not under tuned. Pretty balanced

Warrior is in an amaizing spot in PvP! Easy enough to be played casually, but a high skill ceiling to be played at full potential.

In PVE right now, we are not in a great spot. Condemn is the only thing keeping warriors afloat in raid environment and we have still our 2 spec at the bottom of the barrel.
In M+ we are doing relatively fine however, especially with Kyrian and Night Fae!

Prot is the « weakest » tank right now partly because we can’t keep shield block at 100% uptime like in BFA, along a couple of other problems but we are not that far behind.
It’s not much about Prot being bad, more about other tanks being really good!

Warrior is in a horrible spot. If it wasn’t for assassination rogues we’d be the literal worst dps.
Prot is the worst tank by a long shot, which doesnt help that so many fights are magic damage based.

So far blizz doesn’t seem to care about Warrior so…maybe it will get better in a month or two. Or three.

Why are you all tip toeing around like this? Warriors are objectively the worst class in the game right now. Tank wise we’re low performing and dps wise we’re also bottom 5 for both specs. My advice? Roll a dk.

It does get better when you get gear and arm/fury getting buff today. Warrior is capable of doing any content.

If you don’t enjoy warrior, i would suggest playing a class that you like.

Arms is amazing in cleave fights. Purely single target and its pretty average outside of burst windows. Wouldnt say its the worst but its close.

Warrior is in a bad spot if you plan to do M+ or raid. The buffs today are not nearly enough to offset the issues, which are a combination of kit problems and legendary/covenant balance problems. I was really excited to get back to warrior this expansion but I’ve already been forced to reroll by my raid/mythic group.

If you are playing casually it might not matter as much, but if you are looking to raid or run mythic+ you will find it hard to get into groups until the class is fixed. The people that reply and say that warrior is fine/in a great spot are either uninformed or lying to you.

I’m thinking Warrior will slip father behind even the DH in nearly every category now. (PvE mythic and raids, and PvP)
Those milquetoast buffs aren’t nearly enough!!!

not really but if youre having fun itll stay fun.

as it is you basically need ~10ilvl over most other ppl to hang with them on dps meters

it’s like theyre afraid to legitimately buff us because you cant have both power & fun together

Arms with the Signet legendary should be a solid middle of the pack pick.

Fury and Prot are just awful - performance wise at least. I can’t speak for Prot, but Fury isn’t bad to play it’s just tuned horribly and has boring/weak legendaries that don’t help it much either.

Pretty good in PvP, pretty bad in PvE but you can do (most?) content, I pugged a +10 this week and multiple +8’s and +9’s, pugged normal Nathria. Its easy enough to get into raids because Battle Shout and Rallying Cry are good regardless of your own dps, but it did take me some time to get M+ groups and I knew I had to stay ahead on ilvl to stand out. Overall I find Warrior a ton of fun so I’m sticking with it, the buff should help a bit plus I’m still not using the right legendary and I was already holding my own and topping meters on certain fights. At the bleeding edge of content theres no way that’d happen but it is what it is.

I disagree, Prot is way under tuned, Fury needs bufffs, Arms needs faster rage gen.

When they eventually tune the class numbers, yes, it will get better.

Per Wowhead:

There’s no secret to Fury’s lack of competitive performance; it isn’t affected by any major bugs, it doesn’t have any broken interactions or missing scaling, and it doesn’t lack access to anything other classes have - it’s just tuned poorly and underperforms as a result.

At best, you could assign some blame on its legendary power options, as they are weaker than what many other classes get. The top legendary, Deathmaker, only contributes a ~5% increase, while many other specializations see a range of 7-10%, but that too is a byproduct of poor tuning - increase the baseline spec performance and the legendary gains value as a result. Even if this were not the case though, and its legendaries were doubled in value, Fury would still be a fairly underwhelming spec in terms of single target performance.

In multitarget, the spec does keep up fairly well - it still isn’t the strongest option, and lacks the burst potential of many other classes, but regular cooldowns and easy passive cleave keep it functioning fairly well. The issue lies primarily with the single target capabilities, and could be addressed in a variety of ways, although the best and easiest would likely be to simply increase the spec aura by another 5-10%.

The buff was very conservative and hints at a look, test and see approach.

Warriors are always in the toilet or high in power, sometimes like in Shadowlands we are sub mid tier.

To play a Warrior requires a stern stance on kill or be killed, a I don’t care if I die I am going in attitude.

We jump, leap, smash, and spin with our weapons, good bad or indifferent, to be a Warrior is more than just a class in a game its a life choice.

You must ask yourself, am I willing to make this life choice?

I would firmly disagree from both the sims and my personal expierencing clearing normal castle this past week - warrior dps is low end of the pack. Getting into Mythic+ groups above +8/9 is very unlikely as most groups are only taking top dps specs atm which I do not blame them since Warrior is mediocre.

No, it’s not.

Every tank is weak to magic damage and bleeds.

No.

That said, we’re getting a 5% damage increase for Fury, now it’s gonna be just very bad instead of pathetic.

You can still do any do any content, though, but it will always feel that you’re struggling more to do what other classes are doing much easier.

If this is to be your only toon, and you’re not really attached to Warriors as much to want to keep playing it despite all that… then I recommend rerolling before you waste your time.

Paladins are a good option. They’re doing way more damage, have more survivability, can self-heal like crazy, and have 10x more utility than warriors.
