Does using this as a macro for my gaming mouse make my life easier or a bad?

I have a new Logitech G600 mouse with the buttons on the side. I was feeling mildly creative so I set up a macro that casts

  1. Shield of the righteous
  2. Judgement
  3. Hammer of Wrath
  4. Hammer of the righteous

and it does this rotation every 0.5 secs between key presses as long as I hold down the mouse button. I keep avengers out of it because I want to hold it sometimes for interrupts, and I keep consecrate out of it because there’s no reason to cast it on CD when the effect lasts longer than that.

I’ve noticed since I started using this my SotR uptime has vastly improved, and there are times where all of my abilities are on CD, which usually means i’ve been unloading my max dps with those buttons and getting SotR up as soon as possible.

I’ve also noticed that my awareness has improved as to what mobs are doing what, where they are aiming and other battle nuances that I need to watch. I think it helps getting my rotation down to 3 buttons, avengers, consecrate and my macro what I called “shield of the awesomeness.”

I then keep my old buttons where they were in case I get my SotR timer up high enough where I can spend it on WoG instead, then I just drop into my old manual rotation.

So what do you think? Does using mouse macros like this make me bad? Or are mouse macros like this a useful addition to a tank arsenal?

Interesting. I too have this mouse. Want to share how you set yours ? I would like to try it out.

As far as it casting what you set, I would guess it comes down to if there is a wasted cast ? Not sure. But I would like to try it out for myself.

Just go into the macros when configuring the buttons then just tell it to record keypresses and set your rotation

like mine was:

  1. Shield of the righteous [R]
  2. Judgement [2]
  3. Hammer of Wrath [Q]
  4. Hammer of the righteous [1]

the default time between is already set to 0.5 seconds.

Did it work out for you at all?
