Does undead shadow priest make sense or should I just be void elf?

Kind of conflicted because my frost mage is a void elf cuz I thought they fit well to the lore and also have good racials for PvP.

Then I said okay I’ll level my UD priest cuz I wanna be a shadow priest. Then I realized… void elves are the race for shadow priests .

So now I’m like, should I just switch to VE priest then have two void elves or just stick with my horde UD priest. I feel like UD fit better as healing priests, not shadow. :persevere:

Undead are the OG shadow priests in WoW. Look up the Cult of Forgotten Shadows. You made a good choice if you do it strictly for lore reasons and flavor.

Lorewise, undead shadow priests are the norm.
Holy undead priests are rare exceptions.

Both fit well tbf, so just go with what you prefer.

Void Elf also do for decent Hunters (cause you know, Alleria), Sub Rogues, Arc Mages, Shadow Priest and i guess Warriors.

Undead are perfect for shadow priests. In fact, all the priests that turned undead, couldn’t use the light anymore without having a lot of pain in the process. They found the shadow and started to worship the shadows instead and made the cult of forgotten shadow, or refounded that form of religion.

Their undead state is theathered by void magic, and constitutions makes them more resistance to the madness of the void.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I think I’m gonna be an UD female shadow priest. Sounds cool. However, regarding my mage, do void elf mages even make sense tho? I always thought gnome mages looked funny however void elf racial might be the best ally racial for mage. Idk though.

As someone who mained shadow priest for 10~ years, before Void Elves existed…

I"m going to say to go Dracthyr. It’s just too good. Just about any class that can be a Dracthyr should be one. The double jump is a cheat code, it lets you skip so many mechanics and avoid death. Arathi Basin PVP MC/Knockback off the ledge? Nope. Not anymore.

shadow priests make since on undead more than any other race, seeing as they have a entire church dedicated to shadow the same way the alliance has the church of the holy light

Void elves are still elves, so yes, arcane magic is in their nature

I like the Undead casting animations. I feel like they are some of the best in the game. I made my Frost Mage a Forsaken.

Before shadow became all about the void and old gods it was just a general dark and spooky theme, which suited undead perfectly. I think they can still lay claim to it. Lots of races can. I have a few. Human, because hey it was good enough for Benedictus. Void elf, because obviously. Mag’har, because of the shadowmoon clan. And Nightborne, because of Star Augur Etraeus.

Ooh they did get that amazing animation for dark ascension. Good call.

I second this.

I immediately think of the Forsaken when I think of a shadow priest.

I was going to reply to what you said but you deleted.

There are indeed forsaken priests in the game.

Alonsus Faol says hello. He even uses the Light.
Dark Cleric Cecille is a priest trainer.
And there are more in the game.
There is Calia Menethil, if we want to include her as undead too.

Shadow priest still fits undead just fine, although it fit more when it was shadow priest instead of void priest. But void priest fits just about anyone except lightforged draenei, that one’s hard to square.

undead shadowpriests is THE definitive shadow priest race.

Undead Shadow Priest is awesome, and it’s a great fit.

Void Elf if you need to look good in mogs, cus Undead ain’t it.

I deleted it because I was concerned someone wouldn’t get the sarcasm

Oh lol. All good. Still, others might know about Alonsus using the light. I always thought that was cool for an undead.

Yes. Join myself and others. We are the race to be for Shadow Priest.
