Does turning off exp still put you in a different bracket?

I know in the pass it used to put you with other people who turned off exp. Is this still the case?

yes. also players who are free to play or veteran status( had a subscription but no longer subscribed) can play in “ regular “ bgs until they hit level 20 then are placed into xp off. the 20-29 bracket is the only place you’ll find games with xp locked.
locking xp is only available up to level 59 for some reason.

It’s supposed to be the case, but there have been people exploiting the XP off debuff and being put into the regular brackets. I played last night against a paladin from bleeding Hollow that was level 19, had 2.9khp, and was 1 shotting people. Matched up against him like 3 games straight, and on the 3rd game we finally got a kill on him and he left the BG. He was running around with the experience eliminator buff which should have put him in a different bracket.

the xp debuff and locked xp aren’t the same. you get the debuff by being in a group with a locked player. the buff persists after leaving the group with the locked player and has a 5 minute timer that resets each time they go into combat. it’s supposed to drop off once entering a battleground but obviously some players have found a way to make it stick.
im not condoning it just telling you how it works.

Here is a level 60 twink.

tl;dr Don’t play level 20 nor level 60 BGs. EDIT: For clarity, 20s are in the xp-off bracket.

Those people don’t actually have XP turned off like a normal twink, what they do is queue up for BGs with their experience on, then get in a group with someone who has xp turned off. What you do is have the person with XP turned off hang out inside an instance that you are just outside of, then once the BG pops, they run into the dungeon and get into combat, giving them the temp xp debuff with lowers xp gained by like 90%. As long as they dont stay out of combat for more than 5 min in the BG, then the debuff wont fall off. This is also why you see them leave the BG early, so they avoid the end of game xp bonus.

Warforged gear has been available to level 10+ since Chromie time was introduced, but it was not as high item level as it is now. When Blizz adjusted item levels just before DF, warforged gear went from item level 17 on a level 10 character, to item level 59.

Only WoD dungeon gear still warforges AFAIK.

The funny thing is both of those armories that were listed do not use an Experience off switch to play this game. Not sure if both of these hard working content creators should even be up on the forums, that’s up to them.
20s are on a Vet - un subbed accounts and 60’s are on Shadowlands capped accounts.
Both of which unless you are un subbed or have not bought Dragonflight, you will never see them in your matches.

You’re the one portraying them in a negative light, I meant it as a demonstration of terminal gearing. Not sure if people who post their characters on public forums as examples are too worried about being used as examples. You will see people approaching their gear, some turning xp-off to gear others becoming bored with xp-off brackets. I believe level 60 is an xp-on bracket.

The people I posted know more about low level than myself and almost all the people who post here (some may post here as well), I’d go there rather than here to learn about power in low level. That’s really why I reference xp-off, people should go there to get the correct answers and not rely on scrubs like me.

Random casual question gets posted about Experience on/off system in play.
Post comes in regarding players exploits.
Armory(s) starts to follow, pretty usual stuff. :dracthyr_shrug:

I didn’t mean them as such, I have a healthy respect for the theory crafters on xp-off. They followed the rules to create those chars. I see someone eating things there as well…
