Does trying to get Flawless runs infuriate anyone else?

Try killing just floor 3 guy instead of the last one. That should get you a broker in Vaults!

Sigh I don’t like doing that since I usually like using the ravenous orb on one of those dredgers. Wish there was more sources of ravenous anima cells.

Yeah, you don’t need to avoid the epic one to get flawless. I get flawless every week and I always grab the epic powers.

Yep, if you are doing Torghast just for the conduit upgrade (and are already maxed out on Tower Knowledge), then any non-flawless run is literally a waste of time.

Technically not?

There’s 3 gold and 3 red/black back transmogs that drop from the end boss of Adamant Vaults, as well as a pet and a toy.

There’s also 3 gold shoulder transmogs from the vendor in it.

Definitely. It depends on your spec/build and how early you are offered the epic power.

As a Priest, the best powers for a fast, smooth run are rare rather than epic, so I avoid epic (unless it is Twisting Corridors).

But on a Mage, the Triune Ward epic power lets you actually AoE mobs appropriately (as opposed to pulling them one by one) so that you can finish your run faster to earn more points, and you will lose fewer points from deaths.

The Depleted Tesla Coil (free Stormkeeper every 15 seconds) is also worth it for Elemental Shamans, especially if you can get it early in your run. You will get many more points from Timer and Empowerment bonuses, and have much more mobility to dodge mechanics.

Oh, I agree some specs get useless epic powers.

I already have the transmogs, pets, etc. from Adamant Vaults vendors and bosses, but still run Torghast for the weekly conduit upgrade because it seems less tedious than farming research in Korthia.

So that is why if I don’t get Flawless and cannot ascend to the Adamant Vaults for a chance at a conduit, it feels like a waste of time to me because I don’t even need the Tower Knowledge.

To be sure, I am still missing some shoulder cosmetics that seem to drop only from certain non-Vaults (Floor 5) bosses, so it is possible that I could earn a cosmetic I needed even if I don’t get Flawless.

What layer are you doing them on for Vault runs? Minimum required is 9.

Adamant Vaults is available for Layers 9 and above, but WoW devs have confirmed that drop chance of the conduit upgrade increases with higher layers, so I always do Layer 12. Drop chance for Layer 12 seems to be 100% or close to it for me, since the recent hotfix.

oh, I didn’t know that. Once I got my 262 leggo, enough for a second leggo and finished all 6 wings at layer 12 flawless, I stopped running them. I had planned to go back to finish the Box and level up the conduits. Good to know I should do layer 12 for the increased chance.

You can get more Tower Knowledge, too, for doing Layer 12. Each run takes longer due to the health of the mobs, but I more enjoy doing a Layer 12 once per week than doing Layer 9 multiple times (in case the conduit upgrade doesn’t drop).

I don’t usually 5 star it but I solo both wings at 12 on my hunter every week as BM. It’s much harder, and more reliant on powers to solo as MM, still possible tho.

Just make sure he doesn’t take animal companion talent, normally that’s the best one for dps but it makes each individual pet a bit weaker since you have two, and when you’re using your pet as your tank you want him to be as beefy as possible, so one pet is the play for solo. Use a clefthoof, the leech and damage reduction ability it gets makes it the tankiest pet for soloing. And of course make sure he is smashing misdirect on pet as much as possible, certainly on pull of each pack at least.

It’s not the quickest ever but soloing it as BM is quite easy honesty, and it can be quick too if you get good powers, but even with trash powers it’s pretty safe to solo just a bit slow. And my hunter’s not even very well geared for PvE, it’s my PvP toon so he’s in mostly PvP gear which doesn’t scale up in there (side note it’d be nice if it did), only like 237 or so in PvE, so it would be even easier if he has good PvE gear.

I only do Torghast solo and I’ve gotten flawless runs a few times. I can’t see it happening in Mort’whatever any time soon though. I finish a floor with a solid 10 mins and it seems like it’s fast having to clear the entire huge map I got, and it says the par time is 7 mins. lol. So I’m like, ok I guess I’m not doing this.

You then try to push harder and take more risks and you die or have to reset a ton of mobs and lose more time. I have enough soul cinders to make 2 more leggos that I dont need, so I stopped doing it.

I haven’t been trying really hard to get flawless runs, but I recently finished the achievement for getting flawless layer 12 in all wings. However, I think arcane mage has always been pretty good for solo Torghast.

I don’t mean to brag, but I got a flawless layer 1 on my first run with this account, and then immediately proceeded to get a flawless layer 3 run.

Try to keep your swooning to a minimum.

And with that, I will not be touching Torghast ever again unless I level a new toon and need to get soul ash and/or powers for them.

Okay bub.
