Does trying to get Flawless runs infuriate anyone else?

Whaaaaat.

DANG it. I thought I was done with Torghast now that I have my highest Legendaries on my two mains.

Try it in a group if doing it solo is frustrating you.

I feel like I need to work on my TC stuff which I basically abandoned

You’re doing it wrong. That’s all your problem is. I haven’t missed a flawless run in a long time. They are incredibly easy to complete.

  1. Deaths don’t really matter. Who cares, it doesn’t stop you from getting a flawless run. I’ve had groups with like 15+ deaths and we scored a 230+ at the end of the run.
  2. Missing %'s doesn’t really matter. I’ve had runs were a floor was cleared with as low as 80%. Still got over 230+ score.
  3. Time doesn’t matter. Had slow runs that super tilted me, but stuck around to help people slog through and show them de way mon. Still get 230+ scores.

Your priorities are probably all wrong. Here’s the fool proof way to win even if you’re not very good.

  1. Have 1k anima by the end of the run. Stable phantasma lure legendary helps with this, since many runs can be scared with the phantasma. DPS doesn’t really matter since time isn’t an issue.
  2. Do not use epic powers (I’ve used epics and still gotten 230+ score, but you sound like you need the points boost so don’t use them!)
  3. Time your lust/drums/CDs with empower. Pre-empower checklist:
------- A. When you’re near using empower wait to find a pack with at least two elites (1 is fine if you’re too weak to kill two). Get the elites low HP, preferably with out killing surrounding mobs. Pop empower and all CDs when the elites are low enough to ensure you kill them with empower still up.
------- B. DO NOT break jars or save souls around your empower time until after empower is used. Then go ham and break everything, do every objective possible after your elites are dead and mobs are dead.

Focus on your overall empower bonus for every level. Empower is where most of your points come from. I promise if you get 20% empower bonus or higher on your levels you’ll get a flawless run. Even with a “bad” group it’s difficult to screw this up if you follow the rules listed. You do not need box powers, but clearing flawless runs + vaults every week will get you all of the powers quickly. I’m completely maxed out and the runs went from very easy to lemon squeezy.

At ~240 ilvl by now you should be steamrolling Torghast like it’s a saturday picnic in the park. I did my 2 first wings at level 12 with flawless the 2nd week that layer was available.

By this week you should have all your Torghast box thingys for the talents and that is a HUGE boost to damage and survivability.

There’s 2 things that you need to do to have the 5 stars: kill 2 elites within 10 seconds and not getting hit by traps. Most of the rest of the score is about being empowered, breaking vases and be kinda fast.

If you cant do it, you are just bad.

Thank you for this. Think I’ll try it out now.

I only do what I can short of rage quitting. My best is four stars on layer 6.

More likely, I’ll wait till next expansion to cheese Torghast, much like I waited till now to tackle Horrific Visions at level 60

No, it doesn’t bother me too much.

The only thing that infuriates me is Mortregar, and it’s infuriated me since the dawn of Torghast.

I only do level 3… You get ~400 of the ash and that’s enough to make a legendary after a few weeks.

Today I just said to hell with it and didn’t even try to get 100% completion on the floors. I just wanted to get to the end and be done.

It just isn’t compelling for me. Actually nothing really is in this expansion right now. This week just seems to be the week I quit caring…

Gonna hang on through the anniversary and then reevaluate whether to stick around or not.

Might be “funner” to just do lower than 12 and get your box maxed then try to get flawless 12’s.

That’s my plan, tbh. Preferred not having to grind a box to do the last rank at 5 stars. If only that box was account wide! Not something you fun to grind on alts tbh.

I’m calling bs here. There is no way you flawless scored a 12 with anywhere close to 15 deaths. Each person only gets 1 free death before it counts against score and each death after costs 20 points.

Nah. I tried at first. Got 1 flawless. Then after a few failed attempts, gave up.
Yeah, I Don;t really care for the mount reward. There are like what, 1,000 mounts in game? One won’t make a difference.

I am not the type to /flex over some ingame pixels.
I get what I want to get to enjoy my experience.

But to each their own.

Well I just successfully did soul forges 12 - and ahh didn’t get any ash or cinders.

If you ever want help on the idea of doing 12s, Rhay - I can help provide basic information and such to make your life easier. There’s some tips and tricks which make it easier I’ve found. I flawlessed all six wings on Layer 12 without much of a problem once I determined a couple of routine ideas.

Cool man, I wish there was some kind of way to link you all of my flawless runs. I’ve done more than two per week for a while to try to farm the transmogs of which I have most now. I’m a flawless master and maxed out on my tower knowledge. Don’t need to believe me. I put the guide out, set the blueprint to success. If people want to live in denial I will keep winning and sleep like a baby. Good luck to all. EDIT* In regards to the deaths, maybe it helps to have more tower knowledge spent? But you can die a whole lot and it doesn’t matter. All of my runs were done in PUG, no dedicated team. Just randoms following my instructions.

@Rhay, glad to hear you did your successful 12! Hope the guide helped lol.

It is only about tops a 15-20% chance to ignore a death with tower knowledge in that capped your not realistically ignoring over 10 deaths. 3-4 deaths is easily enough sabotage score beyond flawless, especially if your dying that much run back will kill your speed score. Your being a braggart and skewing facts to try and make yourself look better.

Prob exagerated the death count, but deaths don’t matter unless you run out of them. And the run ends. You can score very high and make all your points up with empower bonus. 100%.

I’m just posting to help people, I think you’re being a bit insecure. Just follow the guide and win. Not hard. Or don’t, do your own thing. I do not care. Like I said. I never fail 12 to clear through vaults in PUGs on any week. This week I took a random 226 geared prot warrior and we absolutely crushed.

There is no insecurity I’ve been soloing it, at tower knowledge cap, and its more having little interest to do more than the weekly run and tower knowledge cap a week why I still have 2 12s left to flawless.

The thread is right that that flawless 12s can be infuriating especially since parts of how difficult achieving flawless is comes down to rng, such as did a chest spawn, an npc to rescue spawn, and how much does rng with your anima options decide to mess with you. Let alone that a lot of the bonus scores require intentionally making things harder or less enjoyable.

Dont fall into the trap of not picking epic anima powers, if you have strong ones that basically “breaks” your character. The more dps you are able to do, the crazier empowered pulls you can do for more points. Same for doubling up on anima powers, if you can stack OP ones.

You dont need those bonuses at all and not picking good anima powers will just make the run harder, if you are struggling with dps or survivability.

It was RNG maybe 1-2 month ago, now you just need to correctly use the empowered bar. While doing the easy bonuses that are always available.
