Does Transmutation master work for making Shadowghast ingots?

Hey there so I’ve been an a alchemist since I think Vanilla and realized way back I should of taken transmutation master but now it’s Shadowlands and I’m wondering…is it worth it to change my profession specialty to make the Shadowghast bars for making legendaries. To my dismay the recipe for transmuting the bars does not mention a once a day limit and I’m just…wondering if there’s a way around this with transmutation master. I checked Wowhead but to my dismay there’s no up to date comments. I…got a sneaky feeling the answer is no…since I’m currently an Elixir master but idk if that means bonus flasks anymore… would be a real shame if having these specializations was pointless now honestly

Unfortunately they are indeed now pointless - and have been since Legion.

Presumably removed in the name of “the economy” or some such silliness.

I doubt that Transmutation Master works on the Shadowlands transmutes. That being said, Transmutation Master is still better than the other two due to the daily cooldowns of the old transmutes.

I think they broke the whole Transmute thing a long time ago. I have two that are Transmute Specialists and haven’t been able to get extra nothing, even when it was active I can’t get those items either.

It doesn’t happen often but as I use transmutes for Living Steel and the Trillium Bar and occasionally see an extra proc I know it still works. Just tested for Shadowlands this morning. Did six Trillium Bar transmutes and got a proc for one extra. Also procced an extra Living Steel from the Living Steel transmute.

So it works for Panda land stuff then? Well…that may be better than nothing. I’d get extra living steel for transmog skins and the robot mount I’ve somehow not made yet

Still majorly stupid they don’t tell you Shadowghast bars are on a daily cooldown.

It works on most, if not all, of the transmutes prior to WoD. It can also proc to give you more than one extra. I managed to get a proc of 5 Primal Fires from the Transmute Primal Air to Fire one time. It is very rare to get such a large proc though.

On another note, after looking through the transmutes, only the Living Steel transmute says in the tooltip that it is a daily cooldown. Most of the other transmutes are a daily cooldown. In fact, most of the old daily transmute cooldowns are actually on a shared cooldown.

The old specialties still work. That said they are capped to WoD (maybe MoP) professions. I have multiple Xmuters that I use to make living trillium and living steel every day. I get procs, so it does work.

But no, it will not work with current expansion professions.

I came to the forums today specifically to search for more info on this.

I’ve been a transmutation master since TBC. With the ignot transmute I have yet to proc more than 2 at a time, transmuting them every day since learning the recipe in SL.

Don’t quote me on it, but… I think it is safe to assume by this point that transmute master does not affect the Shadowghast Ingot transmute.

Also – the ingot transmute is on a daily CD. Side note: Blacksmiths can make multiple bars per day so long as you have the ore to do so.

guess they give alchemists the day cooldown so we can’t just cheap our way around ore farming to make the bars. Only two herbs compared to what six metals… still kinda dumb they don’t tell you ahead of time you gotta wait a day to transmute two more bars

Almost none of the transmutes tell you the cooldown time. Why did you expect this one to be different?

mainly a tiny shred of hope Blizz wouldn’t overlook it but now that I look at things…sadly they’ve been doing so for a while V_V
