We have enough for the 4 set so really the only thing left from the catalyst is transmog, and crests are softcapped right now.

Crests don’t uncap until close to the natural cap of having enough crests to upgrade every M track item, and given the acquisition rate of them relative to M track pieces this never actually does anything to help at all. Even H track crests become useless after a few weeks as 3/4 of their upgrade track is given to you for free from completing 10s and is farmable.
Catalyst only provides infinite uses once the season rolls over to the next.
Just an FYI you can also convert stats on the non-set pieces, its useful if you get vault stuff with bad stats or if you get tertiary stats, you can upgrade your sets/items
Sure, but its primary purpose is to provide a soft gate on 2/4 piece so more people can get tier while the season is active. So the barrier between 4 and unlimited should be nearer than “next season”, especially considering that some large portion of xmogs in the 9 piece set do not even drop.
