Does this get better?

The big payoff for the war campaign is how the armistice brought a permanent end to the faction war and the in-game barriers to communication and grouping were finally removed in 8.2.5. Yeah, BfA had rocky moments, but that unequivocally beneficial move for the story and gameplay completely made up for it in every respect.

Learning about all the different facets of Zandalari life and culture were great.

then in comes FACTION WAR

I love how Versailles ended all wars too!

The strangest thing about that whole thing was that he’s afraid of witches? Had he encountered a witch before? Did witches like this exist anywhere prior to drustvar? Is he just, like, afraid of the word witch without any context as to what that actually means?

Maybe he just doesn’t like old women who use the same model as lowborn Arrakoa.

me: “the war campaign will be worth it, will be worth annihilating the characterisation of both factions, if it removes the faction barrier”

I look at BFA the same way I look at anything else in this game at this point. Do I get a cool hat out of it?

BFA offered up several cosmetic hats that were attempts at Pirate hats, but they were definitely not 10/10 hats. Pirate-y expansion, and we was robbed matey.

Further along in the disappointment department is that you can find scully caps via datamining in BFA and we didn’t get those either.

This is pretty much my entire review of BFA as a whole.

I would like to just have an actual pirate-focused expansion. I know for years people used to speculate about whether the South Sea was going to be a focal point and man, I came around to the idea eventually. And it didn’t happen. And I was sad.

I kind of hope Blizzard never materializes the ideas I have for this game in my head, because I’m certain they can’t pull any of it off without disappointing me.

South Seas would be great! WrA folks are always posting great ideas, stories, etc and I wish Blizzard was half as creative as the people who inhabit this server.

My ultimate review of Shadowlands will primarily hinge on whether or not Draenei get heritage armor in a patch

It’s like Pandaren. Yall had your heritage armor attained in WoD like they did MoP… cause that’s totally how it works.

You say the war went too far… I say the war didn’t go too far enough.

It doesn’t get better than this, which’d be the reason why my only Horde-loyalist character is a glorified serial killer, because that’s really what ultra pro-Horde characters are like.

See, I’m just normal and have all my horde aligned characters do one thing shocking…

they just don’t commit horrid crimes and ultimately still have plenty of justification to loathe the Alliance.

short answer: no

long answer: it wasnt ever better.

I’m glad you remember it so clearly, because that was literally exactly what I was thinking as I drove that trike through Drustvar. That was by far the most memorable portion of the quests, so bizarrely out of place.

To be totally fair, mine’s a killer for hire, so the entire moral conundrum isn’t very often on her radar provided that she’s getting paid enough to get wasted about how awful the last job was.

Gotta break up the horrible doom and gloom of it all with a brief moment of comedy, I guess. That questline does feel like the playtesters got depressed playing Horde and went “hey, could you guys lighten it up a little…?”

Typically the moral question is answered very easily when someone is invading your homeland and there isn’t much wiggle room for the ordeal. Though there is quite a bit more to unpack there.
