Does the Trading Post Blue Crab Mount Devalue the Nazjatar Meta-Achievement Mount?

I hope that people who get actually upset about things like this find far more important things in life to value. One thing to enjoy items you get in a game you play for a hobby and another to have it negatively affect you.

I think anonymous alts are always trying to stir the pot.

I don’t use the meta one on any of my characters. I couldn’t adjust to riding sideways.

But perhaps now that there’s a more common crab, there will be crab swarms of players at some event and I’ll have a reason to use it if I want to join in?

No it doesnt, they are virtual items. Who cares?

…insert JJ Jamison " you’re serious?" laugh gif here.

I have the Nazjatar crab and I don’t think the Trading Post’s re-coloured crab devalues the red crab.

The colours are very different. One can be earned via an achievement. It still takes quite a while to obtain the Nazjatar crab if you were to start today.

Players in this game are smart enough to understand the difference between a red crab earned through a time crushing achievement, and a blue crab given away to everyone for logging in. So the red crab still holds its value.

i don’t know what this means

the achievement doesn’t reward a blue crab, does it?

Nope. The meta gives a red one. Everyone knows those are faster.

Mains are anonymous too, unless you have your main publicly linked somehow to your real-life actual identity

Not everybody wants something just because other people don’t have it.

seriously i can’t imagine how exhausting life must be constantly keeping an eye on what everyone else has so you can make sure they don’t “catch up” with you

Just like cars, red is always faster lol.
Not really, they just stick out more than other colors to the po po. Thats where that comparison comes from.

So folks with the hot rod version should be happy!

And suddenly the “Oh well.” sequence from Oz flashes through my head.

Doesn’t devalue it anymore than when they reused the skin from the Lucid Nightmare mount in other models in BfA…

I killed so many Algans for hours on end to get the Snapback Scuttler. It took me two years to earn that mount.

I also say that this new development doesn’t bother me one bit. Everyone should have access to a crab mount, and the blue coloration is exciting. (Also, give us original Mage Tower appearances!)

The blue one is ugly, the red one looks better!

Nah, there’s a ton of recolors in this game.

No one is talking about the Felhounds of Sargeras mounts- the meta achieve one is purple and the orange one simply dropped, and you could even get it on LFR back in the day.

I’ve got some rare mounts myself that recolors exist for, and the originals are still very prestigious because they turn heads.

No. Still a different mount.

What time does the new trading post start on Sept. 1st? 12:00 am? 6:00am? 10:00am?

Thanks.

This is how I feel about all of the people that get up in arms over a mount/druid form/toy etc that was “special” at some point.
They are pixels, that we don’t own, that can be taken away at any point or…given to everyone as a recolor.
There is no value in pixels, but for some reason some players hold them near and dear. I’ll never understand it personally.
Love rockets for all! TLPD for all, werebears and sparkle cats for all. Literally doesn’t matter in the real world lol.
