It’s a recolor. However, given all of the TCG items we’ve been able to snag lately, I think the whole ‘devalued’ argument is a losing battle. Either way, to me, no. It’s different. People may not have imagined Bliz would start handing out some of the mounts and pets they have, but to think an entire mount model was off limits is unreasonable (personal opinion).

Not in the least.
I got my crab guy during BFA and the only feeling I have when I look at the new crab guy is joy.
Now I get a red one AND a blue one!

I have 494 different mounts. Some are common, some are rare, some are extremely rare. The ones I use the most? Just small ones that can fly or be used as ground mounts like the jeweled onyx panther because they don’t take up a lot of screen space.
I don’t think I’ve spent 30 seconds in 16 years looking at another players’ mount other than being irritated by how much real estate they take up when I’m trying to get to a quest giver or a mail box. Point of the story? I haven’t paid attention to your “rare” mount anyway so doesn’t matter to me if they recolor it. I didn’t think you were “unique” for having it in the first place.

Nope. Had the achievement crab for years, it’s fine. I’d be fine with blizzard recoloring the CM phoenixes as well.

Honestly, finding out that the red crab mount requires a Nazjatar meta-achievement devalues the red color variation. Cuz Nazjatar eww.

The new mount will be a cool recolor, and if anyone wants the red skin, they can do the meta achievement.
Red crab comes with a title, this one doesn’t. Red crab still better.

Well one is red and one is blue. That is easily identifiable as an achievement mount and a trading post mount.

As someone who has the meta-achievement mount, my thoughts are: Anyone who is afraid of the “devaluation” of one of the digital models they’re renting on a month-to-month basis from Activision is someone who needs to get a job, start investing in real property, and/or start a family. It’s not even a first-world problem. It’s a fake-world problem.
