Does the Snapdragon mount need to be so odd regarding being account wide?

I can’t see why, once a character has earned the Snapdragon mount, it cant just be summonable by all your account characters as per normal mounts. Sure, if you want to change the colour you need to get the appropriate food, but why should the basic one not be available on demand? It just seems a very strange decision. Has there ever been a similar restriction regarding a mount since the introduction of account wide mounts?

Yeah, Tarecgosa’s Visage is another mount that is not account wide. It’s the only one I can think of though.

Yes, I’d forgotten that one; I can almost get it, with it being linked to the legendary staff questline.

Thats weird considering the color changing bfa mounts at least let u summon the basic version.

The prismatic snapdragon? it can be. I got it on my hunter and have been using it on my DH… and warlock… and mage.

Ive tried clicking on the mount icon and it seems to activate and then nothing happens. I read somewhere that you had to have some of the food to allow it be summoned by alts, which I find very odd.

Oh huh, strange. I thought this would be account wide, but yeah it does seem to be restricted in some way. May main who did the quest for it can summon it no problem. My other three alt characters could not. Then, I used one of the warband-bound treats on an alt and suddenly she could summon the mount. But the remaining two cannot.

I guess the snapdragon does not like you until you feed it!

Trouble is, many many players are having issues mounting up on it for the first time, if you have not consumed one of the foods for color variations.

It will not appear after you have hit “mount”. If you consume at least ONE of the snapdragon treats, you can summon it.

I keep a few stacks of treats in my warbank for this very reason. I don’t know if it is a bug or intended.

This character just did Siren isle today and has never attempted to mount the Prismatic Snapdragon until now.

Once you consume a food, you can mount it.

This kind of actually makes sense:

Odd. I still have the food item in my inventory.

I have achievement matrix glitch status! I am… the One!

It’s not a mount. It’s a legendary weapon effect. The effect was added to the mount journal for QoL reasons. As far as I know, it doesn’t count as a mount in collections, either.
