As a mount collector who does NOT main a Drakthyr, I was more than a little scuffed when I realized that 4-6 new mounts are available ONLY to Dracthyr … and ONLY if you’re Exalted with Dark Talons.
Which means I’ll have to grind this rep all over again… and I’m only half-way to Exalted on my main now! I can’t even imagine having to do this all over again.
I really, REALLY hope there are more ways to gain this rep than just sending my free time to die on the Forbidden Reach.
The easiest way to get the mount is to make a dracthyr, and get to the part where you get to buy a mount, you’ll have enough gold to get all of them. Learn them, then delete said dracthyr. That takes maybe an hour, if that. It’s been awhile since I did the starting zone for them.
But yeah, I am not sure if anywhere else has that rep.

Not the mounts a Dracthyr can buy when they START. I have those. As you said, that’s easy.
For the new 10.0.7 area, Forbidden Reach, there is a NEW set of mounts tied to the Dark Talon rep. The only way to get this rep (atm) is on that island. And you only get like 400 a day.
The Forbidden Reach is the Drakthyr starting zone and they can just buy those mounts without the rep.
Huh, I guess I missed those mounts, where are they? The ones I’ve seen on FR are the same as the dracthyr starting ones. There’s the one that costs 100k of the dust, but you don’t need to be repped for that.
Then it is some weird artifact it’s showing on my Orc?
It says: 1> I don’t have them learned, 2> It requires being a Dracthyr to purchase, 3> You have to be Exalted with Dark Talons to purchase.
I just checked, and my Dracthyr is only “friendly” with the Dark Talons.
Pretty sure they’re the same mounts as are in the dracthyr intro. If you’ve got 8 vorquin in your collection - 4 armored, 4 unarmored - that’s all there are at the moment.
I just checked on this toon, and it says that I already own them.
But to be fair, it also says that I can’t buy them because I am not exalted or drakthyr.
So I went onto my dracthyr, who bought all the mounts when I first made him in prepatch, and all the mounts state already known.
You can 100% make a dracthyr and get the mounts.
OK seems I had a weird display bug or something… because NOW when I open them on my Orc, it says “already known.”
So… we can cancel that call. Sorry for the confusion. lol
But it still would be nice to have another way to get rep into 10.1 than having to grind out rep 350 at a time to Exalted.
On my non dracthyr characters, I can’t buy the mounts because I am not exalted with that faction, but it says I have learned them. The mounts from Quartermaster Treysh, are the same as the ones from the dracthyr starting zone, the Vorquins and Amored Vorquins that come in different colors. Maybe there’s a glitch, or maybe you didn’t buy all of them on your dracthyr, but they are the same as the ones from the dracthyr starting zone.
