Does the Bloodfang Legendary Bleed stack?

Hello all,

Title says it all. I was in a Dungeon with another Rogue the other night and saw what appeared to be the icon for Bloodfang on the boss and I noticed it could stack.

I tried looking it up and asking other Rogues I know but unfortunately no one has any info and it didn’t occur to me to ask the Rogue at the time…

Does anyone know if the bleed on the Legendary stacks?

EDIT: I dropped some Soul Ash on the Legendary just to test it and noticed a couple of things.

  1. It does ~33% less damage than it says it does. The tooltip and the debuff indicate it should be doing ~225 damage per tick (once per second) with my stats, but in reality it does 151 per tick. Basically, the tooltip and debuff indicate it should do more dps than Rupture and it actually does significantly less.

  2. It can’t critically strike.

  3. It does NOT stack.

  4. If the bleed refreshes, it does not get an extended duration like other DoTs (it will never exceed 6 seconds)

  5. The proc chance is otherwise pretty high, I’d wager around 30% from my brief testing.

Honestly, This legendary is trash in its current state.

Would like to know as well.

Looks like ima have to drop some Soul Ash on Bloodfang Essence to find out. I’ll get back to everyone.

EDIT: I originally said Stygia instead of Soul Ash…

Thank you for your sacrifice, I was really curious about bloodfang. Was also curious if we get to equip two legendaries if the bleed would count towards doomblade.

To add insult to injury, it is not affected by the Mastery from Assassination. The damage between Subtlety, Assassination and Outlaw is identical.

ok. That sucks. I was hoping for another legendary to try rather then always using Doomblade. Here is to hoping they buff other legendaries

Thank you OP. I was curious (not curious enough) about what a 2nd leggo could be.

They should frame your picture at the top of this forum.

Good work.

A damn shame to make something and it plays like trash. Ridiculous and shameful to let something come to live and it is that useless. But this is Blizzard we talking about. We should all be use to it by now.

My brain is always wondering “what were they thinking when they made this? What is its purpose”?

Is it supposed to be an legendary for AoE grinding? Like maybe potentially Torghast or something?

Many of the legendaries are just essentially there for a sort of nostalgia feel. And I don’t think it really matters what the tuning on those is.

I was curious about this too. Thanks op

Honestly, my thinking on this Legendary was that it was meant to be a “Sustain” Legendary for all 3 specs, directly contrasting the “Burst” Legendary, Master Assassin.

On Subtlety I could see it fixing some sustained damage issues outside of Shadow Dance windows. Meanwhile on Outlaw, it would give them some much needed sustained healing while also giving them something to help them deal with heavy armor in PvP.

So IN THEORY, if at least the damage portion could crit and it actually did the damage it is SUPPOSED to do, it would actually be a solid Legendary. Maybe not the best, but decent enough worth considering.

I wonder if anyone tested the update after 9.0.5, and if the damage never actually updated. Was supposed to be a 30% buff…

Also, this was a thing:
“Fixed an issue that was causing Doomblade’s bleed effect to incorrectly be affected by Armor.”

Wouldn’t shock me if the same thing was happening here, since they’re both legendaries.

Did you post a bug report in the client?

BlizZard is too busy making new covenant legendaries that not many will use.
