Does something auto spend Maelstrom Weapon stacks?

I am new to Enhance, and sometimes my Maelstorm weapon stacks auto spend… like i hit 10 then before i can cast, it drops to <5, whats going on?

2 seperate weak auras track my Maelstrom weapon stacks, and yeah I see it go from 7-10 to 1-4 without using a spender

It seems to happen more often in Raid/M+ than Target dummies

Is it happening only during ascendence? Could be Thorims Invocation
