Does Shiv actually affect Atrophic Poison?

I can’t tell exactly. Shiv is supposed to ‘deliver a more concentrated form of your non-damaging poison’, but Atrophic Poison still sits at 3.6%?

Yah, it doesn’t seem to work at all with Atrophic. Only Mind-Numbing and Crippling. :frowning:

I believe there is a post somewhere that details this. Raid leaders were having rogues hold their shiv instead using it as a rotation ability. Devs didn’t like this. So, they took Atrophic Posion off Shiv effect.

First it was kind of bad that you needed to take Shiv for Evasion, but now even that feels like a wasted point since Shiv is basically useless in a rotation.

It does not, only master poisoner buffs it.

Ah. I feel like they could have done something with it still. Maybe they will in the future.
I figure they could simply make it reduce damage the target deals to the Rogue instead of to anyone. Or even just let it still apply Crippling Poison.

They could have left it alone and let the rogue decide whether to hold it or not. It’s a really short CD. It’s not like you’re going to hold it for 3 minutes. It’s actually gratifying when you can use an ability like Shiv at the right moment instead of just using it on cool down with no thought put in to it.

Yah. Not going to lie. I really don’t like Shiv being a DPS CD anyways. I always though Toxic Blade was really cool. :x
