Does Shadowstrike get good?

Currently messing about on a rogue and I’m just wondering the purpose of Shadowstrike in SoD outside of the teleport.

Yes it’s cheap, but considering the limited availability of stealth attacks (unless Shadow Dance rune is released) it doesn’t serve much purpose for the cost of taking it (a rune slot).

The damage is lower than even Backstab and without the talent interactions, which also clearly leaves the ability worse than Ambush also.

It seems the rune would have just been flat out better as a modification to Backstab and Ambush when using them from stealth, than the low damage ability it is now.
Unless I’m missing something and it gets better?

I should probably add, I’m aware it’s not the meta rune. But it should be a fun optional rune (especially for PvP) if it wasn’t so poor performance wise.

No it’s the worst rune P2. No one will use it.

Why would you ever want to not use cheap shot out of stealth as a rogue?

You think shiv is bad?

A guaranteed slow or mortal strike is bad?

Prove to us how you are bad with your next comment again.

There is no ms at level 25, numb nuts. Wasting energy on crippling poison is pointless when it procs anyways if you have a fast OH

Wound poison.

Thanks for proving me right again.

We are talking about level 40 you may be lost.

You maybe be mentally challanged

Go back to being bad by yourself in game please.

True, I was thinking more about the remainder of P1 but that is a great point. It would be very niche outside of Shadow Dance, and still quite niche with Shadow Dance.

I guess the plan is to hope for Shadow Step instead. Would have been nice to have a purpose to stealth Shadow Strike fleeing enemies but alas it just doesn’t seem worth it.

I guess Shiv it is.

grow a brain please

How can you think mortal strike is bad or a guaranteed slow is bad?

Yikes

A guaranteed on demand slow is the difference between losing to a warrior or not.

well you will wanna use cheapshot but it does give you restealth shadowstep and vanish shadowstep basically. technically you can swap gloves in any stealth situation and man hunters being able to feign rune swap is gonna be busted too.

I was replying to OP who made no mention of level 40 anything in his post. You’re the one who brought up “p2” and then assumed everyone was replying to you lmao.

Textbook main character syndrome

We have less than 2 weeks left of P1.

Oh cool I will log in right now and get wound poison on my rogue at level 25 then.

You wouldn’t know how based on this conversation.

Useful gap closer in pvp, vanish and shadowstrike to catch up with people fleeing with little health or to recover from CC and be ready to kick a healer again. considering how easy it is to break out of combat you can stealth and quickstrike to increase mobility by a lot.

Keep in mind it gives you a weapon hit like a backstab even if you are using a sword and that is the damage that is modified by 150%, so in situations where you are using a slow combat weapon you still get a semi-ambush despite ambush not being available.

Increased mobility, combat ambushes.

Not so necessary in pve but still can come in handy to cheese mechanics like when Baron Aquanis dumps you in the water.

Also shiv with a fast OH is <chef’s kiss> for rapid combo point generation
