i keep seeing people say that it does and every time i play bgs on alliance its like im playing with the kids from the trailers at school. Does rolling horde really make such a difference?
This is always a tough question to answer because it depends on your situation, and I think people overstate Horde being “better”.
I will say this. Horde has 64% ranked PvP participation rate compared to Alliance’s 36%. Take that as you will. If you’re unhappy with your PvP experience on Alliance you can always try horde out. If you have a core group of friends you play with on Alliance I wouldn’t leave them though, having friends is more important than being on any faction.
I’ve had a better experience with Horde players. My alliance experience has been dealing with a lot of ragers . . . but that happens on Horde too and thats just my experience so its not fact. There will never be a real answer to this question tbh.
idc about ragers the only thing i care about is win rates and queue times at this point. Im a solo so switching isnt much of a concern for me.
That makes it a bit easier.
For solo play, if you just want to do casual bgs and skirmishes, Alliance. (low queue times, win rates are pretty much equal)
If you want ranked/competitive play, go Horde. (more ranked people to play with, queue times aren’t an issue in competitive play)
Having played on both it doesn’t make a difference. There are bad players who spend their time on fighting on roads on both sides and on the contrast good players who can really carry games. Most days I just Merc as Alliance for the shorter queue.
This is pretty much what I do on my hunter is use Merc mode for shorter times. Which then begs the question, why the heck don’t I just make the switch back to alliance I have nothing keeping me on the horde side other than I enjoy playing both factions.
maybe it does maybe it doesnt but what matters is whether you had fun or not trying
The ladies seem to like it more since I rerolled horde.
For 10-15 man little bgs, either one can work with decent gear (…if you don’t have gear then you probably won’t do well on either faction). For 40-man epic bgs the Horde experience is definitely better/more consistent.
Horde has the option to go merc mode and play in Alliance bgs, so there’s also that. The opposite is not true; you can’t play in Horde bgs as an Alliance player.
If Alliance is having a bad day/lots of losses you don’t really have any recourse, if Horde is having a bad day you can always just go merc mode.
Those are my observations from unranked/random bgs, no comment on ranked PvP since I don’t really partake in that.
Advantage of horde is by definition higher pool of potential partners. In solo play its the luck of the draw. Quite literally. You either get with a pre-made and stomp or you don’t and might be on the other end of it.
Personally prefer horde for more options in arena etc etc.
However if you just want a yolo character to do nothing but random bgs on I think alliance for sure. Reality is in random it will come out 50/50 more than you think. Difference is you’ll get 50% more honor as ally.
There is no difference. Win rates are very similar, but alliance has extremely low queue times because of this mentality, and so many allaince bandwagoning over to horde
On behalf of the Alliance, reroll Horde.
You’ll fit in perfectly.
I play in merc mode a lot for shorter queue times when playing by myself and as horde when buddy is on since you can’t do merc mode as a team. For regular bgs, I prefer alliance and I win way more than I lose. For epic bgs, horde is much better - as ally it’s pretty much auto lose on any of them except alterac valley.
Are you a returning player or something? They lose AV like 70-75% of the time on retail …
The only maps where they do somewhat ok in are IoC and in Wintergrasp (on defense only).
It’s Horde only because you can queue as Alliance at any time, you get the best of both worlds
I see this so much as Alliance. My main has played over 3k games and has a 55% w/l total. (mostly wotlk) No premades. My only Horde is a warrior who has around 100 games played and a 40% w/l. (mostly MoP) My alliance warrior that ive been playing recently has around 50 games played and a 65% w/l. So no horde is not better. I actually think you have a higher chance of getting worse pvpers as horde because of the notion that they are “better” so the bad players, that are in 100% of their games, roll horde because they think they will win more. When its literally the team not the faction. I see a decent amount of horde at 60 on ally side anyway, so I don’t really get why people still think faction matters.
