Or is he non canon?
Canon, but despised by the fans, so they dont show him.
The only canon he belongs in is the kind with a short fuse, aimed at brick wall.
Not to include incredibly boring. of course there has to be that one, being surrounded by a collection of badasses - he comes of as meh. Remove him and give his lines to any other character and the story would still follow forward.
He is not represented in game anywhere to my knowledge. The books though, unfortunately, are canon thus he is canon.
His existence wouldn’t be that far fetched at this point anyway. His schtick is that he is like the WoW version of Superman…he just wins any fact defacto because his power level is over 9000, but we’ve grown and have accomplished feats that, by all means, is beyond our means too.
Plus they can hand wave away his ultra magic in SL by saying it just doesn’t work there…same way Jaina’s magic was highly limited. Maybe the more power someone has individually, the more the Jailer is able to effect them or something.
In chronicles his page is 404. Take that for what you will.
Blizz confirmed the status back in Legion in an interview. His existence is canon, as are the comics, but his becoming Guardian phase is not. That part did not happen anymore.
So we may likely see him eventually, he’s out roaming the universe.
Cause even the Titans don’t know where he is.
Bahahahaha!!! I love it!
At least we learn from our humble events.
Him, take away his power, and some new form of magic he gains from what ever convenient dues ex machina device triggers it. SL, oh a soul of a child I couldn’t save in that one issue that never mentioned my short coming that I briefly said? Super Savior Guardian powers activated and Boom, Jailer one shotted.
I have first hand account that he was consumed by the void.
Shhhh we do not speak of this one, he is better left forgotten.
Not cannon anymore.

That doesn’t mean he was retconned per se.
Yea, more like deleted.
So I asked the Dadgar globe and it said “Certain. Certain death” so he died offscreen which is a fitting end because he also lived off screen.
Med’an is absolutely not canon. At all. Period.
He was actually retconned out of the lore completely, just like how Ebonarm was completely removed from the Elder Scrolls canon.
Pretty certain he is canon, but I doubt he will be even remotely as powerful as depicted if we ever met him.
Too much of a Mary Sue / Gary Stu and would likely be knocked down several pegs on the power-meter before being introduced; Khadghar isn’t that far off himself I feel though, constantly exceeding his limits when we meet him in-game to pull off some niche feat.
Actually… now that I think about it; what the heck is Khadghar up too nowadays?
If Med’an still existed then he would’ve shown up in WoW by now. I think it’s safe to say that he doesn’t exist in the lore anymore.
hasn’t been canon since… wotlk I believe
