Does Malfurion has to die?

Didn’t he suffer enough throughout Legion?
Wasn’t it the destiny of “night warrior” to die?

How it was his fault for Ysera’s death? Just becaus Xavius was stronger?
World needs powerful druid more than some useless priest of elune.

Honestly, if Maiev was a bit better at her job - Tyrande would be dead already (wolfheart book)

One should perhaps at least watch a playthrough of the content before taking to the forums. Malfurion is not dead. He is taking a nap. That’s all.

Maiev would never kill Tyrande herself, since she’s still the chosen of Elune. Whom Maiev still worships, and gets some of her powers from. Best case, Maiev would keep her in a cell, which Tyrande would eventually break out of, considering her support.

She tried to kill Malfurion though, and failed. So get your lore right.

It was also the destiny of the night warrior to be useful, yet here we are.

Honestly, I don’t even know why people are acting like this is unusual. Malfurion has a long history with naps. He is a very sleepy person and tends to snooze through whole large swaths of time.

The only thing shocking here is that he was ever awake to begin with.

I thought he was off in Ardenweald, training? You know, Herne throwing axes at him, the Winter Queen screaming, “DODGE, MALFURION, DODGE! IT’S NOT THAT HARD! WHY WON’T YOU JUST DOOOOOOOODGE?!”

He is POWER NAPPING. Thats how you train as a druid. We take naps and wake up with super powers. I am a professional, you can trust me.

And I do not think the Winter Queen has any tone range beyond mildly-disappointed-but-dignified-mom-voice.

True, but that’s why I find it fun to try and imagine her screaming it at him. Just a louder, deeper kind of shouting with that faintly angry disappointment.

It helped her lop Nathanos’ head, so I still it give it some cred.

Whether through strength or rage, didn’t matter. It (and Tyrande) did us all a great deed.

He has to have his back turned to Herne, and then have to predict an incoming axe based on the wind movements like an air-bender.

Technically it was Malfurion’s fault for rushing headlong and letting his anger get the better of him: https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/The_Die_is_Cast

Cenarius succumbs to the corruption and disappears, taken by the Emerald Nightmare.

Malfurion Stormrage says: Noooooooooo!

Malfurion Stormrage says: I have wasted too much time here. No more!

Malfurion shifts into [Flight Form] and heads off to confront Xavius.

Ysera says: Cenarius’s loss has left Malfurion unable to see reason.

Ysera says: Make haste to the World Tree. He may be headed there, all too ready to take reckless risks.

Elothir and Koda Steelclaw leave in separate directions.

Ysera says: Meanwhile, you and I will follow his trail from here. Malfurion must not fall.

I don’t get that.
How is he going to sleep? He is going to the afterlife to take a dead person’s place. Thats dying

He bodily went there just like we did through a portal. He isn’t dead, apparently the mental weight of the Ysera’s bond to Ardenweald is too much for a mortal body to withstand directly so he was pulled into slumber. He is just napping under a tree in Ardenweald somewhere all sleeping beauty curse-like.

I wish I could sleep for a millennia.

Y’know, it sounds great until you really think about it.

The slang? Totally different. The technology? Completely changed. And all the TV shows? Except for Doctor Who, they’re all gone.

So when you turn on the Cluvushasu and all the kids are brangadagling the latest episode of Showful Donger? You are just lost.

Basically you are like me with these young whipper snappers.

ya know part of my job is telling old people that technology is just moving on without them. There’s really no excuse to be technologically illiterate unless you are 90. Boomers in their 60’s and 70’s whine about how it’s too hard, I feel like I am losing my humanity a bit because I think too bad so sad. The harsh reality is no one cares about boomer accessibility, and it is really sad, it’s like watching people who have been accommodated their whole like have a meltdown because they are not the target market anymore.

Malfurion’s statement isn’t actually relevant to the ritual to temporarily take Ysera’s place. Malfurion is needed because apparently he’s become so in tune with nature that he’s become a Wild God that would be taken to Ardenweald to be revived for the good of the cycle it he dies. Though, it really could have been any Wild God if that is the case. Malfurion just happened to be there, so he took the spot. Malfurion’s statement itself about the events of Val’sharah was just survivor’s guilt, an emotional statement rather than factual ones.

I would argue it was not his direct fault no, but flipping out and running off without any plan to combat the Nightmare lead to Ysera’s corruption. Malfurion basically fell for Xavius’ plan the entire time and responded in a rage at Cenarius’ corruption like was hoped. Ysera was going to find Malfurion before he could be corrupted, but Xavius never intended to corrupt him at that time, he was bait.

Like Razagath he was really spiteful at being locked away, in his case being turned into a tree and then left at the bottom of the ocean. He wanted Malfurion to suffer, and he still is, as he blames his rash actions for spiraling.

I think Malfurion is going to be a raid boss. in the Emerald Nightmare 2.0 raid.

If Malfurion knows the Emerald Dream’s magic, and he learns Ardenweald’s magic, would he be dual-wealding?
