So when I am looking for mining nodes, most of the time there’s lots of people doing the same thing. That is inevitable. But when I switch layers, it doesn’t seem to change anything.
Do layers actually affect the nodes?
Could you swap layers and potentially have nodes around you pop up?
It doesn’t seem to but maybe there’s just so many bots.
All the rogues in greens running around Silithus on their poor mounts. I can’t count how many of them I report on a daily basis and they are still there everyday.
They did when we had them on Classic Era (before we had them removed)
Basically each layer is its own server with shared chat and AH, just like 5.4+ retail where you can cross chat with friends on different servers and invite them to groups.
The only difference is that you’re assigned a layer in Classic where as in retail you have chosen the layer (server).
There is one more difference between the retail version of the same thing and that is the limitation of names on say for example nightslayer server is limited to the single server where as on retail you have different servers to pick from and can server hop (layer hop) to play with friends and grouping for world stuff.
Hope that makes sense.
Interesting.
I’ll keep layering then while mining thanks.
Kurinaxxx? I was on that server.
good server for names its wide open, part of the Whitemane server group.

All I remember is being in Awakening/Origin and the alliance we beefed with was Synergy.
Synergy was Origin (alliance alts)
2019 Kernnax was sweaty AF for raiding compared to now on era / anniversary.
Yup.
Synergy won every time.
When BWL released it was like a 4 hour fight for the entrance with them lol.
Good times.

MORE BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD, MORE SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
The wars on the server were freaking insane, especially the wars for the mountain.
Sekram horde killed their own server so there was a certain guild who transfered over to Kernnax thinking that since the server was 60% horde they could wipe out the allies on Kernnax also…
Big mistake, they got camped in Blackrock mountain until they left the server.
A battle for the mountain.

Bro you talk so much on this forum and don’t know basic stuff.
I’m so disappointed right now.
layers are completely independent, if something isn’t up on one layer it could be up on another, you can 100% have a node spawn basically on top of you when hopping layers
Weird.
Haven’t had that happen yet.
Layering is just an instance of the same world.
Fun with nothing more than objects, and objects within objects
Servers are objects and may have thousands of sub objects
(or sub domains) and so it goes on sub domains within sub domains until you’ve run out of objects needed for the entire beast to work as anticipated.
yes, you can switch layers and a nod will pup up, u can even mine a nod and switch layer to find the same nod u just mined in another layer and u mine it again for 2nd time.
there are arround 10~18 horde rogues and 10~18 alliance rogues 24/7 in silithus but they are not bots since they can sap you and steal the nod, they are probably just farmers and when i mean by farmers (people who are hired to play just to farm and the gold from mining will be sold)
apart from that, some heavy geared rogues come to mine from time to time, i encounter rogues with +4.5k HP, they are probably using heavy stamina gear during their mining hours in silithus to avoid getting killed in stun-lock.
I got layered once, just by the game, while I was herbing. The nodes I was heading for still appeared on my minimap, they just weren’t there in-game any more (I could see them and then I couldn’t). That’s when I checked and saw the layer had changed. It seemed to take the game a few minutes to update itself and for the minimap “find herbs” dots to disappear, I think I had to leave the immediate vicinity and come back for them to clear.
