What does the future for fresh look like? I am wondering what my era guy is good for. Will I get to go to TBC when Fresh does with my era guy? Why not now give Era TBC? Where do fresh servers lead besides the expansion crawl again? Will era suddenly see a huge population appear? What do we expect?

We have not been given a single answer to any of these questions, even though they have been asked many times a day since before the Anniversary servers launched. Just wait, stay in Era, play there and chill (or go HC and shiver), and wait for Blizz to tell us what will happen. Then you can decide what to do.

This. If you want to play vanilla stay in Era. If you want TBC you can slowly level your character(s) to 58 and park them until TBC drops. Will TBC be permanent or progress into Wrath? They won’t tell us.

Yah they haven’t and it is so frustrating. Because, we had classic already. Got permanent vanilla era. And then did not get permanent bc era or permanent wrath era. And now we have like 7 different versions of vanilla era. I wish blizz would show bc era and wrath era some love.
If this happens again, it’s a no go for me. And the complete silence leads me to believe that the same thing will happen again. Kind of hard to trust after being lied to several times.
But I am hopefully optomistic. I was really annoyed when no permanent wrath classic servers were announced during cata classic.

That’s an interesting question to ponder. I wouldn’t bank on it just yet, since there hasn’t been any mention of this afaik.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. Vanilla era is cool. But I do hope it leads to permanent versions of bc and wrath era this time around. Although in my op, we should already have permanent versions of bc and wrath era servers though. I mean good lord.
Like what is the point in making us wait this long? And having to go through vanilla era a 3rd time now think it is just to go down the same street again.
Because, I don’t think anyone will have any faith if we go through vanilla era all the way through anniversary cata era, and they are like, yah nah. We aren’t doing permanent bc classic or permanent wrath classic era servers. That will tick people off big time. I am still ticked off. We had to wait like 100 years just to get a second shot at classic era in the first place. 2010 to 2019. We went through vanilla era a second time from 2019-2023. And now a 3rd time.
But yah. Idk either. I am kind of starting to give up on blizz.

Here is why it will not be okay:
Era doesn’t have a recurring scourge invasion for some reason. By the time they announced Era the first time, it was too late for people who would have planned on going to Era with the undead materials for years to stock up accordingly.
So by waiting to announce Vanilla Era, Blizz is making the only option to bring prepared characters to Vanilla Era a gamble (of our time).

You are playing on seasonal servers. Deal with it or go to Era. Not everything has to be the same. I know change is hard sometimes. Everything will be okay.

I suspect the answer is no ( I wish for tbc era) but if blizz says I think there will be a huge drop off of players.
Wrong. On the realm select, there is a “Seasonal” category tab. The fresh servers are not in it.

I’m afraid this is the correct answer - which Blizz is too cowardly to give straight out.
Yeah it’s totally ridiculous how they’ve given us no information on what happens to our characters on anniversary classic , really disrespectful of our time as players because can’t really make informed choices on which version of the game to play , would really like confirmation that we’ll be able to clone / copy our anniversary classic characters to permanent classic era servers before TBC and would like to see TBC era too , if these characters just get moved on to Cata and beyond eventually then this is a complete waste of time

Man and I feel that disrespect on my time brother. I played classic from 2019 to 2023. Blizz was like, yah. Go beep yourself if you like permanent bc or permanent wrath classic era servers. We aren’t making them.
Even now it makes me salty as heck. And with the lack of info here right now. My fear is that the same bullcorn will happen again. This will be the 3rd time down classic vanilla memory lane now for alot of us. 2004-2010. 2019 - 2023. And now again for anniversary fresh from 2024 to god knows when.
It’s just stupid. If they are just going to cancel out permanent bc classic and permanent wrath classic era servers for a 3rd time in a row now. I see no point in jumping on the bandwagon. Specially with how long it took them to make classic servers in the first place. 2010 to 2019. Nothing but arguing and we don’t know what we want. Don’t you guys have phones. You think you do, but you don’t.
Like darnit blizz. I know exactly what I want. A permanent wrath classic server. Now, we have 7 versions of vanilla era servers. Like what the heck. Like why is wrath and bc so neglected.
I think everyone should be able to have the servers they like most personally at this rate. Heck even retail has things I enjoy about it. But, wrath is where I will always go back to. Vanilla and bc just weren’t as much of my jam for me. Plus wrath has everything I loved about vanilla anyways, minus og naxx and onyxia.

Not likely and I will illuminate why I think its a lost cause.
Consider a moment that they have now disabled Server transfers on Era in full excluding “Death” on HC characters.
Also consider a moment that the did not give us TBC ERA or Wrath ERA like we had requested during TBC Classic and Wrath classic.
Also consider that they did not give back Cloning despite being pleaded with by the community with a thousands post long thread and a plethora of other threads on this matter.
Also consider that Blizzard has been ignoring the posts we made asking specifically about this before the launch of FRESH while at the same time answering other questions and addressing other things.
These unfortunate facts do not bode well for “FRESH” ever getting to come to ERA.
I want Transfers to Era from FRESH so that I can feel good about the character I make, because I know it has a home that I can play on later but without that its relegated to TBC and then likely Wrath where I will not play. So long term is the character in regard to my desires is dead so may as well just not play; this is how I am handling this.
As a result I just gave up on FRESH and play Era because its constant, I get the WSG games I want, and there are raids to do, and players to play with.
