The Void seems to absorb and become a part of those it consumes. As seen in the Visions of N’zoth where cats, cockroaches, and other creatures and NPCs just become Void infused beings who usually go insane. Like the kids in Stormwind vision. The Void wishes to consume, but from what they’ve shown its more like make everything apart of itself or one with itself. Some creatures take to it very well like cockroaches who don’t seem bothered by becoming Void.
The void can either outright consume, or it more often it just merges with living things to usually horrifically tentacled effect. Void Corrupted humans tend to turn into K’thir for example. Likewise the Emerald Nightmare was void corruption of the Emerald Dream.
This pretty much sums it up. The Void Lords are downright eager to share their Thousand Truths with anyone who will listen… or they can force to listen.

Basically, when it comes to Void it’s obsessed with its thousand truths it doesn’t really care much about anything else except personal freedom and that you’ve become a part of it. Feels like the Void is all about the illusion of choice as much as anything else.
And Xal’atath insinuates that the Void we know(Umbrae as the First Ones dubbed it) isn’t even True Shadow…
For all we know the All-Consuming Vampiric Force that the Light clashed with at the beginning is the same Darkness that Il’gynoth has been hinting about. The enemy of all that N’Zoth claims the Light struck a bargain with. The 7th Cosmic Force separate from the rest.
The Hungering Void of Darkness vs the Indistinct Void of Shadow/Twilight and it’s infinite possibilities.
The Light of One True Path leading straight into the Hungering Void of Darkness both opposite to the Infinite Paths of a Shadowy Twilight Void leading away from the Darkness!

The Light and Darkness are now allied with the Darkness using the Light to feed it’s Hungering Void. The Indistinct Void of Shadow/Twilight fears the Hungering Void of Darkness’s victory and is throwing out Infinite Possible Paths away from the Darkness’s grasp.

Uther’s soul was never drained of it’s anima. Once that happens to a soul, it’s game over, that happened to Ursoc. Garoosh, and one poor schmuck during the Revendreth tithes quest. You even see it in Torghast as the drained souls literally disintegrate in front of you.
That’s more final an end than being tossed to the Maw.
