it def exist in other games. have you tried playing league? gold in league is easier to play if youre a good player compared to playing in bronze/iron/silver.

I think some hot healers might spend a bit more time climbing, and healers in general, but otherwise not really. I guess it depends on your interpretation of “elo hell”.

Not really, lol

The Draven getting 15 kills in 6 minutes while you only have 4 can happen but that’s just a go next.

i’ve played a lot of league back then and i remember gold matches being so much easier to the ones in lower rankings. its most def a thing. you have to be really good just to climb out of those brackets.

Iron-Bronze is like actual npcs. Iron barely exists mmr wise. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I feel like personally. I feel like low MMR is way harder to make gains in because your team mates are more likely to die to air. You can play great but that won’t stop your ret from not bubbling or Timmy the rogue from never pushing vanish.

yep. those are the leagues where you’ll find people throwing/trolling or just not good at all. and you have to be really good and have good game knowledge to climb out of.

but what mmr would that be?

Yes and no. Yes in that it exists to a degree, but that is mostly relative to games played. Over the course of many… MANY games, you will likely find a range that is appropriate for your ability.

That said, there are plenty of specs that will still perform much better under more coordinated conditions. It’s unfortunate that in potentially balancing the game around RSS, that it will likely create a jarring imbalance in 2s, 3s, and even bgs.

Not really. People only troll/throw after they get killed a few times to play it off like they weren’t trying.

Nobody down there is good. That’s why they’re down there. :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

well i haven’t played the game in a couple years. but i remember gold being a breeze. like players coordinated much better and i didn’t have to carry as hard.

in silver i remember having to play out of my mind just to win every game in order to climb out.

but maybe im wrong.

It did when leavers were around

it does… Some specs cant carry games themselves, and you can get into a tumble of bad players and drop down into worse players.

I fell from 1800 to 1050 on my aff lock and that was rough, cause i didnt do enough dam to close out kills myself and my healers werent as good at keeping me up and positioning.

that being said, I could still play A LOT better, im not the best. but there is a point where your teammates are the people holding you back from climbing.

My interpretation of elo hell is when you feel that you’re losing winnable matches because partners are not playing their class correctly or playing around your class correctly. The more niche your spec is, the easier it is to descend into it. Like others have said, it’s a numbers game. Sometimes you are just going to get random strings of super unfavorable lobbies and tank MMR. The way back up feels a lot slower than the way down because your low mmr lobby partners aren’t doing the things that your higher mmr lobby partners did when you were winning. Enough games pass by and you get your rating back playing correctly. You just have to be willing to play a lot of games. You also have to humble yourself and realize that everyone else is also random and nobody cares about it.

Yea mostly healers that have a hard time and when you’re thar low the enemy healer will leave if they’re losing. I was 800 CR at one point about to pull my hair out

You might randomly lose rounds, but the other team will also randomly lose rounds. Skill differentiation will inevitably push you higher if you’re actually playing well.

I haven’t played in like a month and a half but when I was working on alts earlier this season I felt like 1300 MMR was a black hole. I presume the low mmr has risen at this point but it was like actually miserable.

According to some people, Elo Hades might exist in other games, but not in WoW RSS.

A higher rated player was conducting an experiment by lowering their rating to a hypothetical Elo Hades. Then, they were supposed to climb back up to prove Elo Hades doesn’t exist.

After they descended to the lower levels, they were never heard from again.
