Honest question, I don’t raid, and I do low keys (nothing over a 6 usually) and we don’t see any CC there. So aside from arena and RBGs, is it used anywhere?
I’m asking because I miss the old dungeons where a failure to CC meant death. It seems the game has moved away from that, and I just need to understand it is what it is. But I was thinking about the great old days of BRD and wondered if CC is used in PVE at all anymore.
It’s used plenty in M+. It’s literally used quite a bit this week to lock down the Inspiring mob while priority casters are killed before bringing the Inspiring mob into the group for cleave.

I use CC without thinking all the time. Once you get in the habit you will find out it helps a ton on soloing stuff. Now only the other 2/3 population start using it in lfr. I tired being feared into death mobs as a dps.
I use that SHEEP on everything!
When I am working mobs I use my traps all the time…<<<<old School BM Hunter…
The only expansion I’ve played that cc was crucial outside of classic was cataclysm.
But if you’re trying to be a top end player then it’s always crucial

CC is definitely needed in higher mythic+s and certain affixes.
If my interrupt is on cd I’ll use imprison to interrupt the cast briefly.
Raiding encounters in SL off the top of my head Huntsman in Castle Nathria and Soulrender (mythic) in SoD. Sometimes tank will ask me to poly inspired mob or if I talent into Ring of Frost on spiteful I will put it down so we can pass through on narrow pathways so we save a little bit of time in m+.
Its used a ton in M+. I also use it in the open world a lot, aggroing and CCing huge packs of mobs make dailies faster.
Its just in raids that its mostly useless, really.
I still freeze trap things, mostly to tame new things, or if I don’t want to kill a mob, just loot what ever it is guarding 
In Raids, I spam fear adds sometimes if they are dangerous casters or something. Fearing isn’t the best, because they move, but it is something.
Huntsmen/Barghast is an example. Need CC in that fight. I would Fear in a pinch, if no other cc was being done.
I also use fear getting to the SoD raid zone, when the elites dismount me, and I am trying to run away lol.
Yup. My main use of CC is as an extra interrupt with some rare usage during other fights. Like the first boss in Plagefall
I use sheep to disrupt dangerous casts a lot. Poly isn’t used for long duration CC anymore, but if you’re not using CC as cast disruption you’re not going to make it far in M+.
Cc is used all the time in keys, and tbh has its fair share of use in raids to
Higher M+, some mythic SoD fights.
Soulrender mostly.
Guess aoe stuns on KT/Sylvanas adds can count.
That’s minimal though and only a few players need to do it.
Gotta kick a fair bit on Fatescribe too.
Don’t really count kick as a CC lol but yeah, true.
