This character was 111, and I had been taking a very long break from the game up until recently. I wanted to avoid going through the entire questing experience again, but I’ve also been wanting to get the heritage armor.
Does boosting prevent me from getting the Heritage armor completely?
I logged in one day and noticed Baine had a quest for me that I’d been ignoring. That got me the armor. 8.3 isn’t out yet.
Edit: Well, okay. If you’re going to edit yours, I’ll mention that the quest for the armor was in addition to finishing the war story. I don’t know if you have to do both things, but I finished the war story before the armor was even available.
2nd edit: Unless I’m completely confused. I never saw the quest for the armor until very recently, so I don’t know what it was or wasn’t part of. But I had Pathfinder long before I had the armor, and I think finishing the war story is part of Pathfinder.
May i also ask a question about boosting and heritage armor? If you level a core race (non allied) and race change it to a different core race, eg night elf to worgen, how does heritage armor work? Is it still eligible by farming the new races rep?
I can confirm that boosting does not lock a core race out of obtaining their heirloom armor, you just need to get the reputation and be 120.
I boosted mainly because I only just came back to the game, and did not want to suffer going through the Horde leveling experience again. I wanted to just get right to getting all of my Pathfinder and Allied Races pre-requisites.
For Allied Races, boosting before 110 locks you out of gettting the heritage armor (if not already earned). For original races, boosting has no effect, as levelling is not part of the heritage unlock requirements.
