Does Blizzard usually let this stuff slide?

I have magic beans in my pants to. Funny you have all these screenshots, know his age, he knows your name and address and you expect us all to believe it’s some random weirdo who stole my magic beans to find out all your personal information. You have literally moved out of your house to save your parents but come to forums as if that would help. have all the proof and blizzard supposedly says you have to go hunting and catch him yourself online lol… So I’ll say again things that didn’t happen. At least the way you are saying.

Professor Copperfields Miracle Legumes

Am I the only one that thinks this story is a bit fishy? Seems like we’re not being told the whole truth here.

File a police report. Keep filing police reports and bugging the hell out of them if you have to. Take all your collected evidence with you each time. Record video, also. If you don’t know how to do that, watch this video:

Don’t sit and do nothing. Some police and sheriff departments will drop cases they don’t see as merited. Keep at it.

How do you know specific details about the harasser if you don’t engage with them?

It’s 100% BS for clicks.

I wonder about this… back in wrath I had some person whisper me if I knew how to get somewhere in the game and I knew so I whispered back and they thanked me for giving them all of my information. He or she then proceeded to type out information about where I live. Is there something that does this in the game? Could this creep had used the same thing to track this OP down as well? Maybe it has to do with IP address or something if there is a way to get information from that.

I was really freaked out when this happened too.

Perhaps if you inadvertently allow access to your machine by means of downloading something like a key logger script from a fishing scammer.

But you would have to open the back door on your end in some way.

Some addons have been corrupted associated with wow.
Be careful what you download

Dear Diary…

No, it’s mostly impossible for your average person to find that out. You can’t even get another players IP address since they cannot access the servers other than their own characters. It was probably a friend playing a joke on you.

I don’t recall having download anything but addons from curse back then. I’m not exactly the most tech savvy so I don’t do anything too fancy on here lol. Could have happened from curse though. I got hacked once around that same time during wrath and I’m pretty sure it was because of that site.

Could have been from an addon

99% sure he already had that information and wanted to rattle your cage.

Nope

IP Addresses don’t work that way. If that jerk got your address for tracking your IP, it’s because he got access to your ISP database.

This is almost even more concerning tbh. But at least that was a long time ago. I haven’t had anything like that happen again since then. I really do have no idea who would do that to me. I never played with friends on here.

I did however have an ex bf who introduced me to WoW during classic. dear lord if that was him that is weird.

Exes do weird things

I had one show up at my condo looking for something, after he left I woke up in the middle of the night to this clicking noise which ended up being a small tape recorder under the dresser which was clicking because the tape had ended.

I destroyed the tape put that plus the recorder in a envelope addressed to “dear loser” and left it on my front porch. Was picked up a few days later.

Don’t underestimate the capacity of stupidity ppl have.

Have you thought about using the “appear offline” feature?

The only IP addresses someone might have access to are the server IP addresses. You connect to the server, not someone else’s computer. Even if you are playing Hearthstone you connect to the servers and not the other player.

If you are referring to getting personal information from an IP address, you can’t with home IP addresses. They are dynamic, not static (even if you have had the same one for years). The most they would get from your IP address is your local ISP. A ping or tracert would not give a street address.
