Does Blizzard listen to Forums?

Anyone seen Forum ideas actually implemented by Blizzard?

Probably not, and that’s for the best.

I certainly hope not, there isn’t much of quality posts here…it’s mostly trolling and complaining.

While I’m sure they read the occasional thread here and there, there’s just too much clutter and outrage in here for them to bother with.

Yes.

They reverted a lot of pruning (eg shadow step) and actually used a player idea for a artifact talent trait that Outlaw had in Loaded Dice.

Horrific visions is more challenging solo content that players have been asking.

Shadowlands is going to be more alt friendly.

Player feedback matters.

They took my name for a new character in Overwatch! I had paid for a name change one week before I heard the news, and now I must pay for another one. I know it’s a coincidence but still.

It’s a bit difficult for them to listen to us. If anything, they read what we post.

tbh with changes they’ve been making nowadays I do believe they do listen. Do they listen to every person whining? No. It would be impossible for them to make the game to meet everybody’s standard on here.

I’m really interested in gaming politics and the like, and a few phrases I heard over the years is to have the devs not interact with the community because it can demoralize them.

Such as to never read the forums, as it will make you cry, Not being able to live up to expectations and what not.

Yes they have implemented features over time that people had wanted. Do they listen to every single complaint? Definitely not.

Many of my suggestions here have been implemented by Blizzard.

No. They sometimes cherrypick one of the nastiest, angriest posts and respond politely to make it look like they’re the good guys, but that’s about it.

I’ve seen quite the opposite.

Generally speaking I’ve seen it come across as - beta / PTR forums said ___ shouldn’t be a thing because ___ will happen… and then at launch ___ happened, because the feedback from beta / PTR was ignored.

It’s crummy and shows the degree of hubris on the other side of the forums.

They do listen, even they don’t always chime in and tell us. But it doesn’t mean they necessarily are going to agree with or answer every complaint. Can’t appeal to everyone.

Small example, next patch we get mogged legendaries, a long time request. Vulpera have been asked for heavily. People were complaining about the lengthy intro quests for alts and recently they added skip options for the scenarios. Changes do happen.

I personally don’t think they actively monitor the forums for ideas. I think it’s not entirely impossible for forum ideas to eventually make it to the dev team, but I think its more an exception than the rule.

Occasionally.

Don’t ever expect your suggestions to be implemented, though. Remember, there are people making suggestions that may oppose yours. Who is Blizzard supposed to listen to?

Not really and I don’t blame them.

but muh essences!!

I do not believe it. Its heresay. Fake news. I say this because they do not take our feedback far enough to improvise. Especially Game Director Ion Hazzikostis. Thats right I said it.
