Anytime I see a complaint about the gap between normal and heroic dungeons I just think back to original Cata launch and laugh
There are multiple avenues to acquiring gear that are both easier and more efficient than normal dungeons. Make use of world quests, kill rares, do your weeklies, crafting doesn’t take much investment to get some solid springboard gear

Bliz cares if you quit as much as peanut butter cares about high performance racing tires.

so go complete the main story. it isn’t even that long.
This game isn’t more grindy than classic, it’s just you don’t want to do the minimum effort it takes to get to 567.
Which you can get from higher tier delves, world quests, crafting, AH.

Right? Took me a week or so to go from 60-70. And 70-80. And then weeks on top of that to be geared enough to start doing heroic dungeons and then raids.
Now you can be a fresh 80 in a day and ready to start doing heroic dungeons/LFR in like 2 days. If that.
It can be if you’re not about getting Cutting Edge and farming best in slot gear. Current is far less tedious than Classic though.

I’m a casual and I’m 599…I’ve never seen it so easy to get gear before. I have multiple Heroic level items equipmed and almost all the rest is 4/8 Champion.
- run the timewalking raid…its super easy
- run delves…on Tuesday my vault will have a 616 Heroic item for me
- then at 567 or whatever it is, you’re in Lfr and Normals
- no need to run a single dungeon (unless you want to)
They love seeing everything through rose-tinted glasses.
I doubt they understand anything period.

kill rare mobs, do renown, do weekly quests, timewalking + timewalking raid, craft, delves and use valorstones to upgrade that gear.
There has never been a time in all of wow’s history that you could be heroic raid geared by doing solo/queueable content.
you can be 564 by simply buying auctionhouse items for the cost of a handful of world queests.
I have bypassed both normal and heroic dungeons without stepping foot in them on multiple alts.

WoW is by far the least grindy mmo out there rn. It’s literally like the Play-Skool toys of mmo’s.

If you don’t like the grind maybe mmo games are not for you

for all the people saying just do x y and z conetent to get other gear. idk if its actaully and issue but if you cant just grind normals to get into heroics thats just a dumb way of doing things. the one way to make people hate your game is to force them into content they dont want to do for gear to do content they actually want to do. aka making pvp players raid for gear or vice versa. or a better example is thats how they ruined torghast.

So to summarize.
The way I want to play the game is wrong and not an option. There are many ways to get better gear! NONE of which are explained at any point to the player. It was perfectly reasonable that I have no clue about the options some of you were kind enough to explain. Though most of you acted like I was an idiot.
I should quit the game because I don’t enjoy playing it. I totally agree. Its just a shame that bringing up legitimate issues with the game is met by a bunch of bootlickers who give Bliz developers a massive echo chamber. Empowering them to continue making poor game design choices.
That’s exactly why WoW can’t retain new players. But hey now you all have warbands so they don’t have to.

For its time given player understanding of the game and pretty farcical itemization at times it was certainly harder than any ‘normal’ content released since … Heroics and upwards are probably ‘harder’ though comparing BWL with modern raids is pretty pointless given the rvolution of fight mechanics over 20 years.

Delves are explained, there’s a quest that introduces you. The weekly chests literally say they xontain x item track for the first two you earn. The world quests visibly show their contents.

Just buy honor gear
Valid
Yall are finally starting to wake up i see
My advice is to watch the WQs for ones that offer an upgrade. I have heroic level gear and I don’t do a darn thing other than mid-level delves and WQs.
Classic was grindy BUT you were constantly getting worthwhile rewards. When you killed something you got coppers . . .and you NEEDED any coin you could scrape up. You or someone in your guild needed cloth, meat, leather, herbs, whatever. And when a green piece of gear dropped? Yeah, baby!
Now you grind and see no rewards. Professions are a joke. Everything is stretched out so that you can play for a couple hours and feel like you got nothing out of it.
I have been saying this for several xpacs: YOU NEED TO HAVE SMALL REWARDS THAT COME MORE QUICKLY. When I mine ore now it sits in my bag and I can’t smelt it to level mining, I have to fiddle with a stupid wheel with points that barely accumulate. When I fish I get stuff to make stuff to make other stuff with stuff I have to buy, lol.
If casual players can’t find some dopamine hits in the game when they play for two hours: you lose them. If players do delves on 3-4 because they are slow or bad or whatever, and their reward is a crap piece of gear they already have and some points for an NPC? Woo-hoo? Are they going to keep doing delves? No.
You have the M+ and raiders. If they are all you want, that’s cool. But if you want the boatloads of casual players to keep paying, you cannot keep putting rewards at the end of a long series of hoops like this. Classic WoW had plenty of annoyances but what hooked us and kept us playing was a feeling of progression even if you only played for an hour.
I don’t know who in charge at Blizz doesn’t get this. This game design sucks. Casual gamers need to see progress in a game session, not over a frickin’ month of grind.
