im confused with this because in retail it is +haste if i recall correctly works the same way as in classic but in classic it states “increases casting speed and attacking speed”
does this mean that is all it does? for example if i were to cast an instant spell ( DoT or HoT even ) it will not do more damage with berserk up? also does it affect wanding speed? i’ve tried testing this out with wanding but i see little to no difference even at 10% with casting smite i can tell the difference.
Haste only increases melee and ranged auto-attack speed (not wands though). Haste for spells is itemized as “Increases your casting speed” in Classic, so anything that says Haste on it (DIre Maul enchant) doesn’t even affect spells. And in Classic, spell casting speed only does what it says: increases your casted spell haste.
DoTs, HoTs, and channels are not affected by Haste/Casting speed.
Channeled spells were changed in Patch 2.1 to benefit, and DoTs/HoTs didn’t get a baseline benefit until Patch 4.0.1.

tyvm for clearing that up for me. was using it but basically wasting mana and GCD i think just to cast it on wanding/dots
It “should” work on wanding as it has an attack speed built into it otherwise troll hunters would be rare.
Wands have a casting speed, but they are technically ‘spell casts’. They get pushback when attacked while wanting.
yea i figured the same but idk i check on WST addon as well as other spells all at full hp so i should get 10% at least. WST looks to be the exact same speed regardless with and without it. tried it with and without PWS on me as well incase i get spell push back and nothing.
i think maybe i was getting knocked backed because the way it is written on the spell it SHOULD work with wanding tbh it doesn’t state melee or ranged attack speed thus should work with wands. i’ll try testing it out more i mean it’s not a huge deal just something interesting to know plus i can use it while leveling if i need to outside of casting.
