Does Azeroth have ants?

Or mosquitos? And what do they do about them if they do?

As a Tauren I hardly notice them. I assume gnomes fashion them into some kind of mounts.

Yes!

Clearly, ant or us. They are very dangerous, kill immediately.

Arcane explosion, mages literally fix everything. This is why the brotherhood of the dagger put an end to Magic in the world, and exterminated all that use its power for good or for evil.

Azeroth has some of the biggest bugs known to exist. Silithus hives rival that of Klendathu

I just had a horrifying vision of there being “immersion” based difficulties added to the game:

  • Environmental effects such as frostbite in Winterspring, heat stroke in Tanaris, and trench foot in Swamp of Sorrows
  • Endemic life in the form of mosquitoes, small birds, snakes, groundhogs, etc that are not merely “critters” but disease ridden vectors that attract predators and ruin gathering nodes like herbs and ore deposits.
  • Sleep deprivation and fatigue if the player doesn’t sleep/walk enough. Saddle sores and mount care are also included, with it being very possible to seriously injure or even kill your trusted friend.
  • Speaking of injuries, if you take dragon fire to the face without appropriate protection, you get long duration injuries such as “Third Degree Burn” and “Goes Into Shock” that take months or even years to recover from.
  • And more!

Dot. I blame you for this.

There’s no way Durotar isn’t swarming with both flies and mosquitos.

Most interesting entomology book on pain from stinging insects. Schmidt allowed himself to be stung by most insects and created a pain index to guantify the pain

This was in the game in the original betas. After so much time playing a character your experience would be cut in half until you rested. Eventually they flipped it and gave a temporary bonus that would accumulate as you rested.

Smoke and toxic volcanic fumes in Molten Core would be very very hazardous.

Never mind just the scorching heat of being right next to flowing lava…

Depends on your perspective. You all look like dinner to me.

yeah… lava is insane hot like 5K or something nuts. If you fell in you would be ded so fast, like way way way faster than wow. And you can forget recovering your body, that’s a straight up character rebuild. Not even the freaking litch king can survive that, I mean he could try but he would just burn and his armor would melt ultra quick.

Oh look, the worm food is talking.

Undead would certainly have a very short existence if they were possible. Maggots and oxidation would be the ruin of them.
