Just curious if you think aug is getting moved ahead of normal dps for like random pugs.
At the moment it shouldn’t really be, since it’s inherently worse in easy content which is all that’s out for pugging right now.
It remains to be seen if the community at large has finally figured out that dev is stronger in everything but higher end content – that will sort of dictate how in-demand they are on the pug scene.
I’d guess there will will be the “+8 need Aug” groups that there have always been from players that don’t actually understand, but hopefully for devs sake people will start to catch on.
aug is going to be dropped to non existent in pugs with how bad they are performing. Why bring a crap dps that provides minimal buffing when you can bring s good dps class that actually does dps.

This should have been the case with Aug in most key levels all along, but people got inflated ideas of what it is from streamers and the general community.
That aside, they’re not performing badly. A well played Aug with two pumpers is actually doing really solid DPS compared to the last two tiers, it’s just not bringing the same insane levels of group survivability anymore.
I find that my augie gets invited really quick to any M0 and Raids, rarely ever have to wait longer than 5 mins and im usually in the lower end of ilvl. As of yesterday i was 590 running with 600s in heroic raid.
lucky they don’t know that in pug raid, aug is much inferior to devastation

It’s going to be interesting to see what Blizzard does with Augvoker going forward. Unless they create a new support role, I don’t see the support concept lasting much longer. Which is a shame.
When I Aug in raids, I usually volunteer to be the mechanics person. Webs on Council, popping the zit on Queen phase 1, etc. Less impacted by reductions in boss uptime and those with my buffs can keep pumping.
I’ve been getting into keys way faster as Aug. only pushed up to +6 as of now.
Agreed with the others sentiment though…for these key levels, might as well just run dev. But the community in general are a bunch of apes and Aug is always placed in S tier. So I’m gonna keep playing it and getting freelo
Aug currently does the most average DPS in logs across all keys being logged. It’s even ahead in +2s.
Dev isn’t far behind, but as long as your DPS are decent Aug will still cook enough to pull ahead and be more survivable.
With how spiky dmg is and how easy it is to fall over plus 15s death penalties and tank nerfs, I kind of see Aug becoming mandatory potentially tbh
