Does Arthas deserve a "happy" ending?

The blame spiral wouldn’t stop until all of existence was responsible, since the only reason anything has the capacity to occur is because it exists in the first place.
Then you could blame non-existence for not existing, then the realm of never-was now is something – responsible – leading to an infinite loop of it becoming responsible and ceasing entirely to be only to be again, because nothing is infinite.
Which is why I think it’s more reasonable to place the responsibility for the actions of people with agency upon those people with agency that carry them out.

Everything wrong on Azeroth can be traced to the Draenei.
Zerde is dumb.

No, no. Blizzard assures me it is all THE JAILER. He did it all. Even that splinter you got. All part of the cosmic plan.

Arthas is anima dust now and will never return. That makes me very happy.

Last I checked the draenei were the ones who rejected the Legion’s offer. While people on the Horde kept following their warchiefs though multiple cliffs and genocides.

And you have nothing but insults.

what? nuance or subtlety? in my warcraft forum? no, obviously what we really need to do is get this thread re-litigating the dalaran purge.

honestly, shadowlands literally showed the split in sylvanas’ soul frostmourne caused. it’s not as though the lasting psychological scars left by arthas was, like, subtext or anything. it was right in your face during the expansion. (this latter bit isn’t a direct response to zule’s post, but more a general note that it seems like even the devs wanted to make this pretty obvious.)

Everyone knows trauma ends the exact second your abuse stops.

Nobody’s saying he’s 100% at fault for what she did or that Sylvanas was innocent because of it, just the converse.

Perhaps, but there are people saying Arthas is 0% at fault for it and Sylvanas is 100% guilty.

All this Sylvanas talk got me thinking of one of my favorite WoW videos - admittedly not Arthas related.

The draenei led the legion to Draenor.

oh its no big deal, they planned on just bailing when the Legion came.

(as for the other civilizations on Draenor… screw em!)

If he left a good tip, he absolutely deserves happy ending.

Lich king arthas left no tip

Paladin arthas left one of those fake dollar bills with a chick tract on the other side

He deserved worse than he got

One can point out Arthas’ role in causing Sylvannas to be linked to the Jailer as well as what he did to Uther and countless others.

This does not mean giving Sylvannas or Uther a pass on the choices they made. It does mean however acknowledging the man who set them on those paths and contributed to them.

And that doesn’t mean anything because she made the choices she did at a time when she had personal agency, when she had a will of her own and could make decisions based thereupon rather than at the behest of a controlling outside force.
So the choices were hers, therefore the responsibility for them rests solely upon her, ergo of Sylvanas’ decisions after she was released from the control of the Lich King is Arthas innocent.

Definitely one of the better done parodies.

The last time Sylvanas had full agency was when she was Ranger General.

She’s had agency since she wrested control of herself back from the Lich King.
Even if you try to argue that she didn’t have her entire soul, she still had agency because the only soul occupying her and enacting its will was STILL HER SOUL.

If believing the responsibility for one’s actions rests upon the one which of their own free will performed them is ugly, then crown me King of the Paper Bag because I’m the ugliest you’ll ever meet.

Zerde is a mysoginist. He wants to make Sylvanas suffer but Arthas gets off the hook because Teldrassil is more perosnal to him then 3 different nations obliterated by the scourge. Pathetic.
