so last night i was in a 2300 MMR shuffle lobby where i went 1-5 on my fury warr vs frost mage, demo lock, bm hunter, hpala, hpriest and of course i get rage whispered by the hpala telling me im trash because my 3v3 rating is 1500 while my shuffle rating is almost 2300 like does arena rating really matter anymore with out how dead it is in LFG or?

I mean shuffle is pretty free compared to 3v3. Up to like 2.4 in shuff is a bit of a meme. If im playing with someone and they don’t have similar cr/good exp in 3’s then i’d probably check there shuff, but they’d have to be like above 2.4 with a good win/loss and low amount of games played or something, getting 2.4 with like 300 rounds wouldn’t make me be like “WOWZERS.”
Arena rating totally matters when you’re trying to talk down to people who aren’t as sweaty as you are and you have to prove you’re infinitely more elite than they are.

I think it matters significantly less than it ever has in 2s, 3s, or rated BGs. A lot of people have been playing the game for a long time and have achieved whatever goals they’ve set for themselves. I know i only do 2s and 3s with RL friends but occasionally will get a rando for 3s. Although i certainly prefer to play with people i know.
SS is still fun to me. It’s certainly not as organized as 3s but you still have to know what you’re doing to be successful. It’s not a coincidence that the top players in the world (in 3s) are also at the top of SS ladders.
SS allows me to scratch a competitive itch every now and then while i can chill and have a good time in 2s/3s where the losses don’t really matter.
Mmr as a number alone is not enough it depends on a lot of things
Surprisingly I’ve never been flamed for my 3s rating, but I have gotten many rage whispers. A recent example is a few months ago I went 2-4 vs affliction, frost mage, and an elemental shaman, the shaman was flaming me after every single round lol. My advice is just don’t take those people seriously, and remember it’s just a game you play for fun.
nobody plays 3s anymore except for multi-glads. so I’d say it doesn’t matter at all.
