I’ve noticed this over the past few updates, and even back in Legion, in that if there’s a segment of a zone where you need to go underwater for an extended period of time the npc’s will just give you a buff that makes you breathe underwater, and have swim speed roughly on par to a druid’s aquatic form. I’ve checked, the new area’s in naz’jatar with the tortollans are an exact 135% swim speed match.
Considering Blizzard has stated they want to start focusing more on class fantasy, which I am all for and also coupled with the fact that probably everyone will have water walking mounts at least until pathfinder, really makes me wonder does it feel like the swim speed of Aquatic form should get a buff? maybe just like 20-40%?
These is pretty true. Any where you are expected to dive, there is some sort of buff.
Cant even click flight form and move on the ground because blizz made it all one button.
Actually, if you want a button just for stag form instead of Travel’s “all in one” approach, go to the order hall. In the back tree where you can buy your order hall armor set, the vendor Amurra Thistledew sells tombs that can be consumed for different cosmetic druid spells. One of them adds a new form which is JUST stag form. You can also get treant form from her too
Aquatic form is not obsolete. The issue is that rather than creating new buffs, they borrow or steal them from other classes, races, and professions.
I want my flight form. I would use that as a ground mount as i did in the past.
If anything, aquatic form is a detriment! I’ll be moving from point a to point b while a mob is following me, step in a 6" puddle and bam, there goes half of my movespeed.
Completely agree. Alot of aquatic forms usefulness has been outplayed by other buffs that you get at certain times (albeit this is kind of rare) and now the inflatable mount shoes are going to make it where I won’t even need to use aquatic form anymore in the water.
This is also extremely annoying if you arn’t running the Malorne’s Swiftness warmode talent.
p.s. As a side note, has any1 noticed combat not making travel form do 40% speed in combat (after shifting) on Nazjatar? I could swear I’m not losing any speed and I’m not running Malorne’s Swiftness.
I’ve thought so ever since Path of Frost…except for exploring coastal regions.
I’ve noticed it. That’s how it should be intended, everywhere. Other classes’ mobility is so high across the board now that shifting needs to be taken off GCD. It should never have been put on in the first place.
I thought so lol. Unfortunately it’s probably a bug and will get fixed.
I’m leveling a Druid rn and tbh it’s pretty useful for a lot of leveling quests where you need to swim down to grab a treasure chest, swim out to mobs, etc. But I have no experience with it at max
Just let us cast all of our spells in travel form and all will be good =p
The leap/swim speed increase is too good. I don’t think anyone/anything can keep up with us in terms of swimming speed minus the fishing pole from Legion, and even then you have to constantly swap.
On top of that, the moment you enter/leave water you’re instantly back on both your mount form/swim form.
Nothing competes with it.
OOOOOHHHHHH how I agree, we are being forced to use a mount because if not we’re at reg run speed for “6” puddle". With our new “friends” decide who they will attack keeping us in combat, I have had to use Shadowmeld this much since idk when
I’ve been asking for a swim speed buff for ages! Especially for Aquatic form. I love exploring the under water areas, but swimming is so slow. Even on a mount it’s slow. I don’t want to have to swim to the surface, run on the water for a mile and swim back down to explore that little area.
I honestly don’t see the harm in having swim speed for mounts and aquatic form be 200% (The same as ground mount speed… 220% with pathfinder)
What’s the harm in it? What’s the reason to NOT have faster swimming? There’s literally no drawback.
I guess I personally still find uses for it in BG’s and stuff. I think at this point non-flying travel form in general is pretty useless outside of BG’s. Aside from the fact that you get it two levels before anyone else gets their mount and it activates instantly there really isn’t a use for it at all over the appearance.
There’s also a vendor in Moonglade who sells these times for low level druids, I believe in the inn there
