I haven’t done this myself for several years now and haven’t bothered since they changed the profession system to be expansion-specific.
Obviously not optimal or even close if you’re just caring about leveling speed but does anyone still do it? Any benefit you get out of it at all? Anything you can craft that can compete with quest rewards?
I usually just get double gathering professions and herb/mine/skin as I level, but don’t go out of my way to max out professions until I’m at level cap.
I’m Tailoring/Enchanting on my main, and will usually DE quest rewards for some basic enchants and craft some cloth gear as I go, for the mogs if nothing else. I’m getting the crafting materials as I level anyways, seems silly to just ignore them unless you just hyper focus on hardcore questing efficiency.
Nah, I also stopped doing that when they broke up the skills to be per expansion. Now I just grab which ones I want on each character and then wait until I’m max to start leveling professions.
I’ve only leveled Engineering for portals and loot-a-rang and Blacksmithing for certain faction/reputation plans while I was leveling. I usually want the extra xp from gathering.
I used to do it that way before they changed it … but now I chose one char to do double gathering , and then my other char have one profession each , so for ex: my dracthyr is herb and minning , my mage is tailoring enchanting, my warlock is jewel crafting, and my hunter is alchemy…
and everyone is going to have fishing and cooking in tww.
