Does Anyone Still Believe There's Going to be a 9.3?

Even after the whole “9.2 is the final chapter” announcement in the dev preview video, there was a small army making the claim “that doesn’t mean there’s no 9.3!”

Here we are, less than 12 hours away from putting another “fun” year behind us, with no 9.2 date announcement and no 10.0 news other than the airship leaks that may or may not be accurate.

Do any of you still think a 9.3 will come out?

No, I don’t.

Blizzard is embroiled in quite the mess internally.

I would not expect a 9.3 and 10.0 is probably very very far off.

Very far off.

I don’t know why that’s assumed. People walking out for a day or two isn’t going to delay things by years/months.

Those people are crazy, we know there won’t be one. Zovaal is dying in this patch.

However there will or should be a 9.2.5 minor patch. Blizz said there is more to come and one minor patch can tie off all the remaining loose ends, like the Scourge.

9.2 should release in one month in early February. We can predict it easily now that the PTR’s going.

Yeah there’s not going to be a 9.3 other than probably a few quests to bridge Shadowlands into whatever is coming next and to tie up a few loose story threads and wrap everything up.

I think you’re oversimplifying the seriousness of the situation and possibly even setting yourself up for disappointment.

That said though, I could be wrong. It could be better than I assume it is and maybe it really is as simply as a couple of days of walk outs.

I don’t think it that simple though. From my perspective Blizzard is in the middle of an existential crisis and if I were a betting man… I don’t know how confident I would be to bet on them surviving it.

I think there will be a 9.2.5. Which depressingly means there will probably be a minimum of 10 months between 9.2 → 10.0.

But other than that I am not expect nor do I desire any more Shadowlands content at this point.

It couldn’t have helped things. Besides, if internal morale is terrible the productivity can’t be great.

They could rename a minor 9.2.5 patch 9.3 and poof it’s done.

Just like years ago with the “new and improved tasty” snack cake I used to eat… but when I check the only thing new and improved was the package because they reduced its size.

@Humanbreak

It’s just not gonna happen, and that’s a good thing :joy:

The sooner Shadowlands is over the better, I’m ready for 10.0

I don’t think there will be a 9.3… 9.2 is the end of Shadowlands. If we’re lucky, 10.0 will be released this decade.

No, there will not be a 9.3

This company is scrambling to save itself right now. I would imagine there is pressure to come up with a new franchise.

You mean they made it…(/dramatically puts on shades)…gnome sized?

/moo :cow:

It’s about what is going on behind the scenes. Not quite sure how that isn’t obvious.

Several key staff have quit, including the artist responsible for most of the Shadowlands and BFA art…

Considering they’ve stated that they work on expansions in advance; I don’t want to ponder what this means for the state of 10.0 to have so many people walk out, be fired, or quit.

Wasnt there a “conspiracy guy” who said Blizzard was planning to go into maintenance mode, not offering anything of substance for most of the time, just enough to keep subscribers around during quarterly profit periods, or something?

2021 has taught me that conspiracies often come true…

People are ridiculously obsessed with patch numbers around here.

There may be a 9.3. It might just be the fruit vendor selling a new kind of apple and Cro Threadstrong has a tantrum, but that would mean there was a 9.3.

Do I think there will be another raid? No, that’s silly. Three-tier expansions are the norm for WoW.

But people need to understand that X.1 patches don’t always come with new raids, they don’t always come with new dungeons, they don’t always come with new zones. Sometimes they have all three, sometimes they have none, sometimes they have some.

Not very likely. Because

Spoiler

Zovaal is most certainly going to kick the bucket in the raid given hes causing Azeroth to wake up, who in return directly buffs us during the fight. The odds for his survival are slim given the supreme titans interference. So what would be left with Zovaal gone? At best they could throw in a mini raid that serves as in introduction for the next xpac

No, not a chance.

9.3? No, anyone who still believes on 9.3 is being heavily sedated by 50g of Copium and 25g of Hopium on a daily basis.
