I’ve been talking with a lot of people recently about the state of WoW’s raiding scene and how things for so many groups are dying out.(Same with M+)
I know the discussions of bringing back 10m mythic has come up with even RWF raiders who have acknowledged the average player base is struggling to get a solid team in some cases. Or just small groups of friends that don’t want to deal with potential randoms.
But it also made me think of all of the “gold carry” groups I see spamming out the chats these days. I actually made a comment about it in game and had a surprising amount of players respond!
Many said they would love to be able to get into content again, but being out of the loop for so long, they struggling to get accepted anywhere. Due to logs being required, already needing AOTC, being fully geared even in normal to the point of it just being over geared to start.
What would people think of a potential group being started to help others break into the content scene? M+ is just as restrictive and very different from days when people were more helpful to each other. Not just being helpful for the sake of gold or some other benefit, but to bring more positivity to the community.
I wanted to open up this thread if anyone knows about people doing this sort of thing already. Or to talk about nice experiences they might of had in the past in the game.
I’m thinking of starting something up on my main again to help more players in the game actually enjoy it again, maybe get some achievements, and some good old WoW community interaction that isn’t so toxic like I’ve seen in a lot of places recently.
I’d like to see more of people building each other up, just having fun together, and opening up the opportunities for more people to join in if they’ve maybe had something stopping them.
I liked joining in on it! I also hosted BRF mythic runs up till the end of the expansion to help as many people as I could in getting the Blackhand mythic mount.
I’m hoping maybe to get something started up again if there is enough interest.
I know there isn’t any guaranteed mount item like some older expansions. But something just focused on helping more people getting to clear content or achieves.
I have seen every season a few raid leaders that offer to bring anyone willing to learn. Their groups are always called something like “Shasias weekly raid, come learn and have fun”.
They are far and few between though so getting picked is probably rare.
I got into a group once at the end of SL to kill Heroic Denathrius and there were SO many people waiting in que. The best part was that we all really wanted the kill, and though we weren’t very good, barely anyone left so we progressed every attempt. It took a few hours but we did get it down. I think the only thing you HAD to do was join discord so you could listen to directions.
It was hard but also really fun.
Perky Pugs helped me get my Fyrakk mount. Well, drake manuscript for it. They called it the Friendship Dragon. They also have many people help with runs of dungeons/raids/mythic+ in such in their Discord.
Yeah, it’s the same sort of thing but a community.
Some people don’t like the culture of different guild groups, have anxiety, or only want to stay in small groups of their friends but still would like to join raids that would need more people!
I’ve seen some people post about a Perky Pugs group so I’ll probably check it out.
Yep, trying to help people get the mount while people are doing it once people start to get this mount groups will be hard to come by that will SUMMON toons 70-79
to this day i ride my moose and it’s my favorite mount. i wasn’t really doing anything heroic raiding wise until middle of bfa, so being a newbie in wod i was just like oh well. but i found a group that was helping players get the mount. and somehow, someway i was able to participate. i will never forget him.
